I started this business with equal parts confidence and naivety, not fully knowing what it would demand, or who I would become in the process. The years since have been shaped by risk, resilience, and a steady commitment to doing the work with integrity. There were seasons of growth, moments of doubt, and lessons that only time could teach.
The studio evolved. The work grew more complex. The greatest transformation, though, has been learning how to lead, when to push, when to trust, and how to build something meant to last. This home already had so much history and character. Our job wasn’t to rewrite it, but to listen closely to what was there.
Because the home sits in the heart of Salem’s historic district, the windows were protected and couldn’t be changed. That constraint pushed us to think more creatively, finding ways to improve flow, storage, and function for modern living without altering the bones that make the home special.
The result is a kitchen that feels clearer, calmer, and far more livable, while staying true to its past. I always love hearing what people notice first in a transformation like this.
