Argentina was the first episode we filmed way back in December 2023.
@fixerargentina and the whole local crew went far beyond any expectations in helping to bring this series to life. @delfidar with the critical snack supplies and expert filter unsticking skills. @rmspunk , an absolute b-roll machine set the bar and had a huge influence on the look of the series. I hope I have an excuse to visit again to share just a little bit of whiskey!

I’m behind a week again, but this past episode of Cousu we travelled to Germany
It was such a pleasure collaborating and spending the week driving around Berlin with @bastianfischermedia . Special mention for the little yellow bus which was absolutely my favourite vehicle to work out of!

Our visit to Dakar in Senegal was an unforgettable experience. Sharing a meal prepared for us by the locals in Ndem was amazing, even in the 37° heat.
The highlight for me was piloting my drone in Dakar amidst the drama of a postponed presidential election. We weren’t sure we’d be able to get permission but @sieskypictures came through and made it happen!
I missed posting last week when this episode broadcast, but you can Stream full episodes at TV5unis.ca. Link in bio.
Not my first time to Italy, but first time in Milan was packed with great food, places and people.
Our local crew in Milan made the experience even more incredible. I’m so happy we got to team up with @etos19 who kept us all on track throughout the shoot. Giovanni “The Sicilian sound man” Isgrò, with his creative mic placements, always working hard to get the tightest sound possible. And the indispensable @clarissa.musti made our days so much easier, we should have brought her along for the whole series!

While working on Cousu last year, Denmark was one of a few places I got to spend some extra time between filming episodes. Copenhagen is such a cool city and I can’t wait to get back for another visit!
On day one we got stuck inside a Marthon route but thankfully we had @nickynauten on the team to help navigate our way out! Local pros @woxensound and @valdemar.blaakilde joined the team to record top tier sound. It’s handy being a super tall sound guy, until you need to record an hour long interview in a basement. RIP Valdemar’s spine.

Although it was the final shoot on our schedule, episode 2 of Cousu bring us to Casablanca and Marrakech in Morocco. Thanks to the incredible on-screen talent in this episode, our crew is now just one degree of separation from two of my filmmaking heroes, Denis Villeneuve and Stanley Kubrick. I even got schooled on the value of a good Lillie (if you know, you know).
With expert support from @fixer_in_morocco , we captured some unforgettable images. I nearly had to break up an angry crowd when a parking dispute got a little heated with @rabatbiketours —but luckily, @chaoukinani stepped in and diffused the situation like a pro. Only later did I learn he’s a black belt!

Last year, I had the chance to work on an incredible international documentary series exploring fashion around the world.
None of it would have been possible without the talented local crews who joined us on the ground. In Belgium, we were lucky to collaborate with @the_full_picture_int , @sophiedepraetere , and Luc Cuveell—thank you for bringing your vision, energy, and expertise to the project.
Cousu premieres tonight on TV5 at 9pm Eastern / 10pm Atlantic, or stream full episodes at TV5unis.ca. Link in bio. Hope you’ll tune in!
Set your PVRs folks, it’s finally here. Definitely the most challenging project I’ve done as director of photography, but every department firing on all cylinders made it seem easy! Really proud of the whole team that put thing thing together. Bravo à toute l’équipe!
