When @thedavidnwa hit me up for his 30th birthday shoot, he was specific “Clean, simple, but make it look strong.”
As a photographer, this is exactly the kind of brief I live for. My brand identity has always been built on “clean” stripping away the noise to let the subject actually breathe. It sounds easy, but it’s actually one of the hardest things to execute. When there are no over the top props or distracting backgrounds to hide behind, you have to be intentional with every single detail.
We spent the afternoon focusing on the fundamentals, how light hits silk, the way a sharp silhouette defines a frame, and the natural energy David brought to the studio
This session is a perfect example of why I believe “clean” will always be the strongest look in the room.

We scouted this spot to see if the architecture could handle this much red. It was a gamble on whether the concrete would wash her out or make her pop clearly, the concrete lost.
No studio, no strobes. Just my camera, ten minutes of window light, and a massive train. We kept the frames wide to let the natural shadows do the carving and the red do the heavy lifting. One shot in, and the building wasn’t just a background it was part of the story.
