2 years ago today we opened our doors and what a journey it’s been.
Within the last year, we’ve seen so much growth, change and proud moments. From expanding the Blak Cede Food Truck, to now building towards our next chapter with Blak Cede Retail & Art Hub… we’re only just getting started.
We’ve grown our team, showed up at events like Yabun, hosted unforgettable nights with Brenda Matthews & Matty Walker and created space to connect through our staff retreat. Along the way, we’ve been featured in articles, built a strong social media community and reached over 500 Google reviews with a 4.9 ⭐️ rating.
Winning Outstanding New Business at the Shoalhaven Business Chamber Awards was a huge milestone — but the biggest win will always be the love and support from our community.
Thank you to everyone who’s supported us over the last 2 years. Whether you’ve come in for a feed, left a review, shared a post, or backed us from day one, we see you and appreciate you.

STAFF PROFILE: GRACIE 💫
Everyone meet our young volunteer Gracie!
Gracie is 11 years old and spends her school holidays volunteering with us at Blak Cede. We really wanted to highlight her because she’s such an exceptionally hard worker and brings the best energy into our space.
Gracie shared that she loves volunteering because it keeps her busy during the holidays and her favourite memory so far has been working alongside the team at the Blak Markets in our food truck.
Being here has helped her build confidence, especially when it comes to talking to new people. One of her biggest goals is to eventually turn this experience into her first paid job at Blak Cede 🖤
Her favourite thing to do in the café? Handing customers their coffee and food and serving them.
Favourite food: Strawberry gum scones 🍓
At work, Gracie looks up to Aunty Mel and outside of work she looks up to her mum — watching how hard she works for her and her sister inspires Gracie to bring that same energy into everything she does.
