𝘉𝘪𝘨 𝘉𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳, 2025 Wood, steel, nylon rope, wood stain and sealant 146” x 48” x 96” (12.2’ x 4’ x 8’) This sculpture, 𝘉𝘪𝘨 𝘉𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳, is constructed similarly to an 18th century guillotine, an execution device and an iconic symbol of revolution. Its slouching, head-hanging body language deflates its stature as a signifier of power balancing back toward the people from a ruling class. It’s presently on view in MUSKEG at @motherinlawsart Curated by @jacobrhodes74 and @jhargreaves

Thank you thank you THANK YOU to all the friends, family, and art-interested visitors who traveled to Beacon to hang out during Open Studios by @upstateartweekend I’ve always found opening my studio to the public to be daunting if not terrifying, but you made it such a wonderful experience. And thank you doubly for giving me the motivation to clean up a bit! If you still want to see the space or hang out, just hit me up and we can set up a visit! And please don’t forget to check out 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘗𝘭𝘰𝘵 curated by @helentoomer at the UAW HQ up through Upstate Art Weekend at the end of June 🖤🖤 2nd 📸: @faysanders_

If you’re coming to Open Studios by @upstateartweekend I would be so happy to see you! My studio is in the @kubeartcenter in the old Beacon High School at 211 Fishkill Ave. I’m on the third floor in #312. Please note there are stairs (and my sincere apologies for the difficulties in accessibility that may cause). DM me here if you have any issues getting in! 🖤🖤 See you this weekend! What an absolute pleasure and privilege to be welcomed into the home of @yayoi_shionoiri , to see her magnificent collection, to chat art, and to talk about @zeroartfairs with @felixsalmon ! Thank you so much to @mackenzie.stroh and @haliechavez for this wonderful photo to remember the day! Happy to send a link, or head on over to @bloomberg @businessweek if you’d like a good read on interesting art world economics and community. And of course thank you so very much to @jendalton_ and @williampowhida for their generous and massive efforts in making, finding, and providing space and platforms for artists and art.

It’s been maybe 6 years since I’ve opened my studio to the public, and I’m really stoked to do so for this year’s Open Studios by @upstateartweekend ! Come by my somewhat new space in Beacon if you’re in the area or looking for a day trip! I’ll be in my space May 16-17 from 11am to 6pm. I would be so happy to see you! There’s a Google map of all the studios over at UAW’s site and I’ll be happy to send you a link if you reach out too! I’m at 211 Fishkill Ave, #312 in Beacon NY

One of the few sculptures from my undergrad years that survived. It’s a little worse for wear, but I’m cleaning and packing it up for the archive. Thanks to my parents for giving this a decade and a half of basement space. This was the third to last sculpture I made during my time in school. I’ve loved ply wood for a long time. If you can still smell the first photo (2007) you know what we’ve lost in the second (2026). And don’t even get me started on St. Marks Bookshop. The fact that the first photo’s from a DSLR and the second is from a phone is an entirely different way to mark time also.
