Wild Flowers | Digital Gallery 🌸✨ If you missed the Wild Flowers: Rock’s Iconic Women exhibition last December, I’ve opened a private digital gallery where you can explore the remaining works from the series. Each piece pairs portraiture of influential women in music with symbolic flowers drawn from the language of floriography. A small number of hand-pulled, limited edition screenprints remain available. Just as during the exhibition, 15% of all art sales support @girlsrockdc . 🎸 ✨ Link in bio. ✨ #WildFlowersSeries #ScreenprintArt #WomenInMusic

The Tale of the Lamont Street Witch 🥃✨ Two years ago, Mount Pleasant Club Whiskey/Reboot Beverages reached out about creating a small-batch release inspired by Lamont Street—famous for its legendary Halloween celebrations. They gave me something rare in client work: total creative liberty. I knew immediately the bottle should feel like an object of local lore, a ghost story you could hold in your hand. That’s how The Witch of Lamont Street—Delilah Covenwood (initials DC, naturally)—was born. As the story goes, Delilah was a kind witch who lived in an apothecary on Lamont Street. Each full moon, she flew over Mount Pleasant on her broom, dropping bottles of her enchanted whiskey onto rooftops. At first, neighbors feared her gifts, but after a tasting hosted by whiskey collector Harvey Fry, her reputation transformed. Beloved and celebrated, her whiskey drops became a tradition tied to Halloween itself. When she retired in the early 1900s, she passed her recipe to neighbor William Barry, who carried it on until Prohibition. A century later, Reboot Beverages rediscovered one of Barry’s forgotten bottles on a DC rooftop and brought the legend back to life. If you’d like to try it yourself, here’s where you can find it around DC: • Irving Wine (Mt. Pleasant) @irvingwinedc • Nido (Mt. Pleasant) @nidodc • Purple Patch (Mt. Pleasant) @purplepatchdc • Sportsman Wine & Liquor (Mt. Pleasant) • Cinder BBQ (Petworth) @cinderbbqdc • Batch 13 Wines (Logan Circle) @batch13wines • DeCeb Wine (Cathedral Heights) • Bin 14 (Columbia Heights) • Verified Wines (Tenley Town) @verifiedwines • Cordial (The Wharf) @cordialwharfdc • Wardman Wines (Brookland) @wardmanwines Perfect for spooky season sipping 🌙🍂

La Môme | Portrait of Édith Piaf The latest piece in my Wiped: Voices in Fragment series. “La Môme Piaf”—the Little Sparrow—rose from the streets of Paris to become a voice of raw, aching beauty. This portrait, like the others in the series, begins with a screen print and is then wiped, smeared, and layered with paint—echoing the messy, fragile, and resilient reality behind the myth. Piaf’s life was marked by loss and survival, pain and power. Her voice cracked open hearts—but the world often demanded more than it gave back. This is my tribute to all that she carried, and all that she gave away. La Môme is a limited varied edition of 8, printed on @frenchpaperco (how fitting!) with @speedball_art ink. 🖤 #EdithPiaf #LaMôme #WipedSeries #MixedMediaArt #WomenInMusic #FeministArt #ArtProcess #ScreenPrint #LimitedEditionArt #HeidiPhelps

🌈✨ It’s my absolute pleasure to introduce the newest member of our family… Rainbow Sparkle (aka Sparky 💖) Named by my daughter, of course. 🌈💫 He is a very, very good boy and we are already completely in love. (And yes… the cats will adjust. Eventually. 🙀😾) Huge, heartfelt thank you to @wolftrapanimalrescue for being so amazing, supportive, and thoughtful in helping us find the right pup for our family. Truly grateful for the care and love you put into what you do. Wish us luck in our puppy era. 🐶💫 #RescueDogLove #AdoptDontShop #WolfTrapAnimalRescue #puppiesofinstagram

Last year asked for structure and deadlines. This year asks for space—room to experiment, to explore without urgency, and to let things unfold. Early last year, I lost my job, and the uncertainty was genuinely scary. Concrete steps and measurable goals gave me stability. Building toward something steady helped me find my footing again and led me to work that feels both grounding and expansive—and to a promotion in the new year. 2025 became a year of building—clear milestones, sustained focus, and outward momentum. I’m deeply proud of what came from that, including Wild Flowers, my first solo show in the city I love and call home. Stepping into leadership has also shifted how I see things, prompting me to step back and notice systems—how one part supports or blocks another—not just at work, but across my art and personal life too. For 2026, with a renewed sense of security, I’m choosing something different. This is a year for curiosity over certainty, depth over speed, and giving ideas the breathing room they need to percolate. I’ll make steady, pressure-free progress on Peonies, my graphic novel, while deepening my art practice and allowing myself to experiment and explore new ways of working. Peace, play, ritual, and learning feel like the right anchors right now. I’m trusting that clarity comes from patience, presence, and sustained attention—not from rushing toward what’s next. Happy New Year to you all. May the new year meet you where you are and give you what you need. ✨

Today was the final day of Wild Flowers: Rock’s Iconic Women, my first full solo show — and I’m closing it out with something that feels bigger than the work on the walls. From limited-edition art prints to live, hand-pulled rock tees, the DC arts community showed up with purpose. Together, we raised $700 for @girlsrockdc , and I sent the donation in as soon as the show wrapped today. That money helps girls and nonbinary youth find their voices through instruments, mentorship, and a space to be loud, confident, and creative. I can’t wait until my own daughter is old enough for GRDC summer camp — she’s ready to grab the mic now. 🎤 Thank you to everyone showed up and supported me as an emerging artist, and for helping turn this show into real support for the next generation. We did this together — and it matters. Happy holidays from me, my family, and Black Violet Creative. 🎸❤️
