First time to Cocoa Beach didn’t disappoint. Nice little reset before getting back after it. You’re up next San Fran!

Coming down off basically 3 months straight of touring and diving right into more music and a kitchen remodel, but wanted to give a shoutout to my road family for making me feel special on my bday late last month. And to everyone who reached out. It’s the little things that I cherish

STURGILL SIMPSON BRINGS BACK A FAN FAVORITE AFTER 9 YEARS On April 7, 2025, in a packed, sold-out Stubb’s BBQ in downtown Austin, Sturgill Simpson surprised the crowd with something they hadn’t heard live in nearly a decade: “You Can Have The Crown.” The night before, Sturgill had headlined the Two Step Inn Festival in Georgetown, TX for 20,000 fans—but that wasn’t enough. So he stuck around Austin and delivered a nearly 4-hour marathon set at Stubb’s, announced last-minute and sold out instantly. Before launching into “You Can Have The Crown,” he said: “To mark the occasion, we’ll play something we haven’t played in about 9 years or so.” And when those first few chords hit, the crowd went wild. This moment marked a full-circle return to the same stage where Sturgill played 10 years earlier, on April 2, 2015—only now as a living legend in American music. Watch “You Can Have The Crown” right here. Hello old friend! Last time I got to play this bass was on Jessi Colter’s record. Was previously owned by Waylon and gifted to Bobby Bare Jr years back. Thanks @robbiebcrowell and @barejunior for letting my play it on this run. 📸: @edwinkeeble.iv
