We Remember, Tessa🌺
Tessa Chadderton-Shaw, Black CAP's first Education Coordinator journeyed to the ancestral lands on May 3rd, 2026, in her home country of Barbados.
In the early 90's, Tessa engaged a team of dedicated Outreach Volunteers whose work, "Ask me About Rubberware", helped to break the silence and reduce HIV/AIDS stigma in our community. We acknowledge Tessa for all she contributed to our prevention work in our earlier days!

Harm reduction is rooted in dignity, compassion, evidence, and human rights. It supports people who use substances by reducing risks, preventing overdose and other preventable deaths, and improving access to care and community support.
This work is about meeting people where they are, reducing stigma, and creating safer pathways to health, safety, and choice.
Harm reduction creates community impact by helping to:

About the study: They are speaking to people who use drugs and live in Toronto. People who access harm reduction services, and access health services.
