Through the work I am able to reflect on the complexities which we house within our bodies. Love and hate, germs, virus, ideology and dreams, ghosts, delusions, blood and guts too. And the transference of the said junk from here to there when we commune with one another, for better or worse ;)

Weird Woodfire showcases contemporary approaches to figuration in clay through woodfiring. The artists represented in this exhibition harness the use of atmospheric firing to underscore poetic and conceptual notions of the figure in clay. An emphasis on unconventional representation of people and animals are accentuated through the mysterious, funky and weird trajectory of the flame as it licks, marks and transforms our work…
