Each of these jerseys represents friendships and incredible memories.
I made the decision to end my cycling career in May, but had no idea that USPRO in June would be my last race. In hind sight I’m proud of the way I raced. A day in the breakaway, especially in the national championships, feels like a fitting tribute to my career.
I was training when I received the shocking news of our daughter, Olivia’s, severe diagnosis. That was my last ride as a professional. With the support of my team, @humanpoweredhealth , I focused all of my energy at home. In the wake of her death I have not processed or even acknowledged the end of my cycling career. I have taken a healthy step back.
I promise not to use this platform to dwell in the glory days. Mine are definitely ahead! We have some announcements coming soon. Stay tuned!
Join me Oct. 18! At the @efva_tourdemidnight my worlds collide. The Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia supports those living with the condition and their caregivers. Our daughter, Olivia, died from an ultra-rare epilepsy related neuro developmental condition. Now I work for @genedxlab , the genetic testing lab that provided her diagnosis.
I’ve been off the bike for a long time and sure could use some company at the back of the pack 🤣. The code LSTDM2025 will get you 20% off registration on Labor Day.
Great to share the stage with the 2015 team last night to tell stories about what it took to make the 2015 UCI Road World Championships happen and the resulting legacy of the event for our community.
And extra special to have Ben King join the fun to talk about the race from “the inside”.
Thanks to the Michael Phillips, Beth Weisbrod & The Richmonder for making it happen.
Wow! We have such a caring and supportive community!
Thank you to everyone at Reynolds Subaru, David Penton & John Reynolds for choosing Olivia’s Light as your 2023 Subaru Share the Love charity. These funds will directly support children living with a rare disease/genetic condition. More details about that coming soon!
We are grateful for our friends and partners at Reynolds Subaru—thank you again for working hard to help us drive our mission forward. You are the absolute best.

It was the perfect evening for the Olivia’s Light Family & Friends event at @lovingcupwinery yesterday! Olivia’s entire primary care team was there and we heard from neonatologist Dr. David Kaufman and geneticist Dr. Peroutka of @uvahealth . Last night’s event was dedicated to the one and only Megan Sauer🤍 Thank you Barb Sauer for sharing Megan’s story.
A very special thank you to Loving Cup Vineyard for your generous donation and everyone who continuously supports our mission.
Long caption and major update alert! 5 months in, I could not be more proud to be a member of the @genedxlab team as the regional account executive for central Virginia. It feels like a race of greater significance than any other in my professional journey.
On August 17, 2022, our daughter, Olivia, was diagnosed with a rare and incurable brain disorder through GeneDx’s rapid broad genetic testing. Perhaps the most difficult point to reconcile in our own experience is how close we were to being sent home without answers, and to imagine what that would have meant. Sadly, this is the case for many families. Olivia opened our eyes to the world of rare disease.
One quarter of babies in the NICU are likely to have an underlying genetic condition that could be diagnosed through rapid broad genetic testing, but it has not yet been accepted as a first line diagnostic tool. This means that families are sent home and go years without answers. Parents and their doctors are left to guess at treatment plans to manage severe medical complexities without the tangible support that accompanies a diagnosis.
I had a dream job for 15 years, so to step right into a new role which gives me such a strong sense of purpose is rewarding. I have so many to thank for their encouragement, advice, and support during what has been a long and difficult transition. I feel honored to accept this opportunity knowing that each test ordered can mean the end of one family’s diagnostic odyssey.
I also recognize that if you’re reading this, it is likely because you supported my cycling career. Not much attention is given to athletes after their careers. I’ve always wondered what happened to cyclists when they retired. It’s scary. Now I can say, without a doubt, that the qualities required to be successful in cycling have prepared me for literally anything! Thank you for your support over the last 20ish years. I remain forever grateful and a passionate fan of the sport.
It’s hard to capture everything we’ve experienced together in just 6 years of marriage! Wouldn’t/couldn’t have done it with anyone else. Happy anniversary @jennacorradoking !
So proud of @seppkuss ! What an unbelievable achievement. He handled every stressful situation like a champion. And I’m not just talking about the physical stress or even the drama. 2 weeks of leading a grand tour, all of the podium appearances and media requests when you just want/need to rest, really adds up! Sepp was humble, gracious, and professional throughout. #impressed @lavuelta

For Luca and Olivia I took Jenna’s maternity photos in Lucca, Italy and Girona, Spain, but we’ve kept this pregnancy quiet. Now we’re 2 days away from Jenna’s due date and finally did a 📸 session at Carter Mountain in Charlottesville, VA. It’s been a different experience this time around but every day we’re more excited to meet this baby girl!… won’t be long!
I love wildlife photography (@bknaturephoto ), but in my opinion cyclists are wild animals too.
In the past 2 weeks I’ve had the pleasure of spectating both amateur and professional @usacycling national championships in Roanoke, VA and Knoxville, TN respectively.
USPRO was unexpectedly the final race of my career in 2022, so it was special to see some of the people who did the last 20 years of life with me and snag some photos while there.
@billfitzcbs6 joined more than 250 cyclists for Saturday’s The Ride Home Roads event at the Center of the Universe Brewing Co. in Ashland.
The event supports pro cyclist @bking137 charity, Olivia’s Light.
Ben and Jenna King’s baby Olivia was born with a genetic mutation last year and only survived a few months.
The ride and auction raise money for genetic testing for families that can’t afford it.
@ridehomeroads was a wild success in my eyes! What a pleasure to ride with so so many incredible people today for @olivias.light , a cause that I and @jennacorradoking are so driven for! More to come but the most impactful thing for me today was the generosity of everyone who chose to spend the day with us, our sponsors, and ESPECIALLY the volunteers. I can’t find the words to express my gratitude yet and don’t have enough thank you’s. Stay tuned.
