A few weeks back I was honored have been one of 12 Ojai artists invited to collaborate with @willneutral for “Audio/Visual”. Conceived and led by the incredibly talented Black Barn Sessions (Will Thomas, Chris Hacker) @willneutral and @noxonart ,in collaboration with @ojaimusicfestival .
Collaborating with each artist, Will Thomas composed an original score for each piece. These were then installed Biennale-style throughout a private Ojai property. Guests, drifting from room to room, garden to garden were invited to lose themselves in sound and sight.
In this piece, the individual elements function as instruments, and their placement mirrors the structure of the composition. The work operates as both a visual and audio composition, with the arrangement of objects corresponding directly to how the composition moves between two speakers positioned at either end of the table. As the composition shifts from one side to the other, the eye follows—revealing how spatial placement and audio are inseparable in the experience of the work.
Left me feeling full with gratitude.
