Brandon Davis is a Toronto based composer and improvising musician. He has been working as a bassist, composer, and educator since 2011. His eclectic love of music has drawn him to a wide variety of musical contexts. His career spans performing, recording, writing and producing in jazz ensembles, classical chamber ensembles, and folk groups. His own projects integrate free improvisation, contemporary classical aesthetics and occasionally, the heavy metal that first ignited his passion for music when he was ten years old. In each of these contexts, his passion for creating vulnerable, expressive, and impactful music, leads to a distinctive voice that always serves its musical context. He has shared the stage with musicians such as Tigerbalme,
Jacob Sacks, Kristen Mark Westwood, Vinnie Sperazza, Robi Botos, and Larnell Lewis. He has studied with musicians such as Nick Fraser, Jay Anderson, Jacob Sacks, Andrew Downing, and Jim Vivian.
