Happy 9th birthday to my nephew, Charlie, whose imagination, dancing, video messages, and toasts bring me so much joy. He is the funniest person I know - this year for his birthday, he asked for a suit coat, a nerf gun, a bottle of Dr. Pepper, and a can of Coke. I've also never met someone who loves the beach more, particularly being knocked around by big waves for hour-long stretches at a time and then going back in for more after a quick sip of Sprite and a Cheeto or two. He cares so much about people who have less than him and the feelings of others, a trait that evaporates whenever he cutely guesses that Sean is 20 but looks me dead in the eye and says "you're 43." Every time. I love you, C-Bear.

One year with Arnold, who has become the core of our family. He had big shoes to fill when Hux left, and he has stepped up. (He also has enormous back feet so it works.) A sweetie with so much love to give and a glutton for head rubs, we couldn't ask for a better guy.
