Hyper-focused and determined to shoot my AAPI short film THIS YEAR but we’re still $5,800 away from kickstarting production. Every dollar counts but if you can’t contribute monetarily, spreading the word of this campaign helps just as much to reach audiences outside of my circle. Can’t wait to share more news with you later this week, so keep your eyes peeled friends 👀 SHOUT OUT TO: @shanidrakelove @kathynguyenli Sandra Brennan @cbsandhu For the wonderful donations, thank you 10-fold💛😘 And @hanselactor , obsessed with my beanie, you a real one!! /DAUGHTERLIKEYOU

My FIRST recurring guest star audition!!! *shortened the audition clip for time purposes* My jaw dropped down to the floor when I saw the Cmail come through for a XO, Kitty audition, like WHAT?! Although I’m pretty good about releasing my auditions into the ether, this one had a stubborn grip on me. At one point, I was annoyingly checking my inbox every hour. Soy Kim brought a much lighter and playful take on Yisoo, and she totally rocked it! It’s so interesting to see a different interpretation of a character outside of my own—it’s not only fun to watch, but it helps me to equip more tools/choices in my actor toolbox for the next audition. Notice how vastly different the audition sides were from the actual scene too. The sides I received had no Korean in it! At the end of the day, I’m really proud of the work I poured into this audition. And big thanks to one of my coaches @auditioncoach_wendy from @putmeonselftape for helping me get out of my comfort zone, and always bringing forth my best work!

WHAT IS HAPPENING?! I had no plans to submit Self-Doubt to any film festivals but decided to enter it to the @rogersshortfilmfest since they had a special ‘Zero to Sixty’ category for filmic content that are less than a minute long. I held onto hope, but had little to no expectations of being selected until I received the notification today. Thank you Rogers Short Film Festival for featuring Self-Doubt, it was a really personal project, and a reflection of what I was going through (and still going through) at the time 💛 I’m sorry for being a big sap and crying on Instagram, but it’s been an emotional few weeks, and this is the news I needed to continue pushing through for my short film, Daughter Like You. Anyways, if you’re fighting for a dream that feels so far-fetched and it’s got you doubting your capabilities, I SEE YOU. Dig deep and figure out your WHY, why are you dead set on being a creative? Once you get to the core of that answer, hang onto it, because it will be the driver to help you finish your project. Celebrate each and every win, no matter how big or small. @lostchildentertainment

The team is slowly but surely coming together, and I’m both thrilled and grateful for every single creative that has agreed to come on board thus far!! Alexander Hammett—award winning actor, director, and founder of GR8EST Productions will be our Production Manager for DLY. I’ve had the privilege of working on one of his films, And Then There Was, and have witnessed his talent, dedication, and grit. Knowing this, I have peace of mind that we will be in good hands. @alex.da.gr8 Miguel Martínez—an Emmy winner and Grammy nominated film director and photographer is blessing us with his gifts as our Unit Still Photographer. He’s wayyy over qualified for this project, but bc he believes in the immigrant message behind DLY, he’s excited to help. Make sure to check out his beautiful documentary, Farewell Ferris Wheel, which was premiered at AFI Docs. The documentary went on to be nominated for the Imagen Award and won an Emmy Award. Watch it on Amazon Prime! @themigmartinez More crew & cast announcements to come 👀 For more info, check out: GoFundMe.com/DaughterLikeYou

APRIL 🌸 A season of rebirth & renewal… And with the crap year we’ve been having, we are all in desperate need of it. My seasonal depression hits the hardest between March and April, but as I reflect on this past month, I remind myself there were some fortuitous moments too. Like having my personal video project, that was all shot on an iPhone, being selected into a film festival. It’s being screened in a THEATER this weekend, a very first for me! Or how @phyliciarashad , Kate Beyda, and Cheryl Ottenritter offered me words of wisdom as I get deeper into my filmmaking journey. Or when I’m in community with local actors and filmmakers, reminding me I don’t have to do everything alone. Or spending time with my hubby and close friends who never fail to make me laugh to tears. Or how my first screenplay made it as a quarter finalist at the Big Apple Film Festival! This year has been particularly harder to “F the noise” than previous years, but re-shifting my focus on the positives keeps my head in the game.

Pinching myself because WHAT DO YOU MEAN Daughter Like You has made it as a quarter finalist for its screenplay for the @bigapplefilmfestival ?! A huge thank you to Big Apple Film Festival for considering my screenplay for the semi-finalist round. Being a first-time screenwriter, it is a huge honor to have even made it this far. Daughter Like You is such a personal and sentimental story as it’s inspired by my own relationship with my mother. And the fact that my scary tiger mom has been supportive of my filmmaking journey, and even helped me translate portions of the script, makes it that much more special. Can’t wait to tell my mom that I’ve made it as a quarter finalist 🥹😭 To read more and support the film, you can visit: /daughterlikeyou Shooting is scheduled for Fall of this year!!!

If you haven’t already, I’d highly recommend reading this article by Mentalzon /en/post/9514/why-missed-opportunities-destroy-your-mental-health-the-h idden-cost-of-fear-and-regret And for my actor friends, haven’t you wondered why when you have an idea for a scene and missed the opportunity to ask for another take, how that regret stays in your body? It’s the same idea.

After five years of holding on to Tigger’s ashes, I finally freed him at Shenandoah National Park. Every year, I kept telling myself it was time, but I didn’t want to let him go. It was a special moment to release him while the sun was rising and I’m glad I was able to capture it to look back on. Love you forever Tigger 💛 “Dear Tigger, You were more than just a pet, you were my best friend. The way you made biscuits on my leg as I cried over a break-up, the way you purred me back to life through my depression, even when you swiped each skincare bottle off my vanity one-by-one to feed you were all a part of how I survived the darkest part of my life. When things at home felt turbulent and disconnected, you were the glue that kept our family from falling apart. In fact, you brought us closer together. You may no longer be with us, but the memories we shared are forever sealed into my heart. Hope you’re eating plenty of Temptations Cat Treats and getting endless butt pats. I’ll meet you at Rainbow Road one day. Until then…“

I DARE YOU TO WORK ON HORROR for #selftapemay #selftapemay2026 @bitsofmimi absolutely crushes this self tape. Here are the things I absolutely love about this tape. She’s having a blast ✅ commitment ✅ skill✅ execution from prep to post ✅✅✅ this favorite actress of mine not only did the pre-production of choreography, camera, costume, hair, makeup — she also added the highly effective post production of sound effects and score to heighten each movement and build the terror of her body shaping!!! Outstanding work! An easy yes! Horror is exhausting. Honestly probably the most physically, emotionally, and vocally demanding genre out there for actors. High praise for all of the horror actors out there giving it all for the camera!
