Have you heard the news? Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday our bakers get creative with our "Focaccia of the Day". Today's creation is a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Focaccia courtesy of Becca, our head baker. It's sure to go fast so come on by and get yours!

From a farm in Sylacauga @egglingtonfarms , a downtown baker @birminghambreadworks , and an artisanal chocolatier in Forest Park @chocolatabham to Cha House tea in Avondale, the grocery club is your one-stop shop for sustenance (and treats!) for your next two weeks. Every 2 weeks, we (and our amazing partners!!) do the leg work to compile a dozen farm fresh eggs, a loaf of sourdough bread, a chocolate bar from the best in the biz, and a tea - all together now! You pick it up all in one place at Cha House, every other weekend (Fri-Sun pickup) for $35. You can set up autopay or pay your invoice online via square or in person at our POS. Ampersandwich @ampersandwich_avondale We have lived in Birmingham for a few years now, but it wasn’t until I changed my route to work that I noticed Ampersandwich on my drive home. As soon as I got home I googled the restaurant! They had outstanding reviews, so they immediately got added to our must try list! We recently stopped by two days in a row for lunch. Yes, we enjoyed it that much! The spam banh mi and the chicken aristo were our favorite of the four sandwiches. The chicken aristo used the freshest of ingredients including, spinach, diced tomatoes, onion, cucumber, and feta, to pair with the sliced chicken. Instead of using a sauce for moisture, this sandwich used an oil and vinegar dressing. Since this sandwich is a current special, it won’t be around long! Although, it’s so good, we hope it becomes a staple on the menu! The spam banh mi is their most unique sandwich option and a must try! Lightly fried spam is paired with pickled carrots, radishes, jalapeño, and cucumber. For freshness, cilantro is added, and for moisture a layer of mayonnaise is added. The pickled vegetables are not overly pickle forward, rather they add a sweet vinegar flavor and tamper the heat of the jalapeños. If you don’t know what to get your first visit, I would start with this sandwich that reminds me of Hawaii! If you didn’t know, spam is eaten often in Hawaii! Box’s Cuban sandwich, like all of Ampersandwich’s sandwiches, is made with fresh, fluffy bread from @birminghambreadworks instead of Cuban bread. Even though traditional Cuban bread wasn’t used, my husband still enjoyed this cuban sandwich that had strong notes of mojo stemming from the pork. The cheesy meatball sub was great but I would try their unique sandwiches you can’t get anywhere else first. With that being said, the sandwich made with 3 large meatballs, marinara sauce, and provolone cheese, is delicious comfort food! Don’t wait as long as I did to try this spot out!
