I recently had the opportunity to create a custom illustration for @edibleokc . It was such fun to work with a publication I have been reading for years. I’m so glad to see my fish illustration in print alongside the work of so many talented and hardworking creatives.

A look into the studio - earlier this year I had the delightful experience of @jessichapmanphotos visiting my home studio to document the magic that takes place.
It’s strange to put yourself out there as a creative and invite people in to view your process, your work, and share your inspiration.
While I immediately updated my website with all the photos Jessi captured, it felt like a much harder step to declare myself as an artist publicly and loudly with a photoshoot focusing solely on me and my work on this platform.
These images are too beautiful to keep in a file and my studio is filled with too much light and color to keep hidden.
So here is the next step - my name is Anna
and my studio is Birdwatching Creative. It’s a magical place where I get to play with paper, glass, light, and color.
I want to thank everyone who has supported my work so far and invite others to reach out for any stained glass, illustration, or print projects they have in mind. While you’re at it check out my website - I’ve spent way too much time tinkering with it.

Cat dancing is an important step in packaging prints.
Not only does it break up the monotony of the task but it also keeps your cat off of the artwork. Flipping records helps as well.
Apologies if there is cat hair in your print sleeve — now you know why. Just think of it as an extra gift from Toots and I.

Scoring & Snapping
Here are some more glass studio sounds. This is one of the first steps (of many) in prep for a stained glass piece.
I’m using a pencil grip scoring tool as well as my fingers and running pliers to snap the glass.
Creating a score line allows the glass to follow a strategic path when breaking - creating desired shapes.

Just some evening foiling. I can’t seem to just sit still. Having a productive activity I can pair with a movie is a win for me. Toots also makes sure I stay on track and she plays with the paper backing that’s left.
