This was such a cool interaction between these two great horned owls at The Nature Conservancy’s preserve in northern Colorado!
In one of the wind storms a couple of months ago, this big ponderosa tree fell across the creek. I set up a camera on one of the branches, expecting that animals will start crossing the creek there.
There were a couple of mink, but mostly it was birds… Steller’s jays, dippers, Clark’s nutcrackers, chickadees, northern flickers, a juvenile bald eagle, and this awesome pair of GHOs whoooo had a lively dialog in front of the camera! :)

The common buzzard (Buteo buteo) is a medium-to-large bird of prey which has a large range.
Spent a few minutes watching this majestic Common buzzard flying over my head before capturing a few images.
