1. Black Salt Silencer
My favourite gate at the moment. I love how simple it is- really great at getting rid of unwanted cymbals in the snare mic.
2. SPL Transient Designer
A classic for a reason really dial in the transients of your snare. Im usually adding punch from the attack and sometimes pulling back the sustain if there’s too much ring. On Snare bottom I crank the sustain to get more of the wires!
3. SSL 4000 E
Still my go to EQ. Crank the 8k for the snap, some 180 hz for some beef and usually I’ll find some midrange to cut. Bonus points- the compressor on this channel strip is so perfect fro drums. Slow attack and fast release.
