From my lovely friend and fellow advocate Tina: One thing the director said about her film really resonated: “As an amputee I may choose to use a wheelchair and then wear my prosthetic leg on the same day. Mobility aids help me navigate the world efficiently and with the least amount of pain.”

After speaking with my doctor about renewing my handicap placard, he told me about an incredible new medication to help legs grow back, and it’s covered by insurance! So I won’t need to keep renewing my handicap placard for a permanent disability since it won’t be permanent soon!

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, as an actor the past few years have been HARD. This body of work isn’t filled with roles booked from talent alone. It’s built from years of training, adapting, building resilience, and finding a sprinkle of luck. #amputeeactor #representationmatters #newactingreel

Movement is medicine! Thank you to @loganaldridge and @onepeloton for hosting @soeverybodycanmove at such an accessible class in NYC! 🍎🦿🦾♿️ #soeverybodycanmove #adaptiveathletes #mobilitymatters #amputeeandproud
I had the BEST time at @reelabilitiesny this year!!! To quote @keely_cat_wells ’s Forbes article - “At a time when disability rights are under sustained political pressure, the 18th annual ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York is screening films that treat disabled lives as complex, normal, and worth the world’s attention. That this still qualifies as radical tells you everything about the distance left to travel.”

This past weekend, #SoEveryBODYCanMove state advocates from across the east coast and national team came together in New York—joining @loganaldridge for one of his live @onepeloton studios recording for an in-person strength and core class at Peloton Studios to celebrate Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month.
It wasn’t just a workout. It was a room full of advocates, athletes, and community showing what access to movement can actually look like.
Logan—a proud adaptive athlete, Peloton instructor, and co-founder of the @adaptivetraining alongside @aleczirkenbach —continues to use his platform to push for that access.
This moment started last fall at our Mid-Atlantic Mobility Day in Maryland led by our Maryland State Lead, @snsachs —where we first collaborated with Logan and Alec from ATA alongside Amputee Soccer and other community partners to create an unforgettable day of movement and for community members to learn about their rights through SEBCM laws.
What started there sparked something bigger—and this weekend felt like a full circle moment.
Grateful for friends like Logan and partners like the @adaptivetraining for continuing to show up for our greater disability community and helping amplify our collective impact we are making together.
Together, we’re advocating and pushing for the systemic change needed to ensure people with disabilities can access the devices they need to move through modernizing insurance coverage by championing legislative change.
Want to check it out the class our advocates too this past sunday? Go to /classes (/classes) and select the

Video Description: Rachel Handler, a white woman with long brown hair, speaks to the camera.
It’s Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, so our Docs in Progress x FWD-Doc fellow Rachel Handler (@bionic.brunette ) has curated a list of films around authentic limb difference representation, from thrillers to documentaries to dramedies.
Speaking to her disability and the stereotypes in media around it, Handler says "We are not the villains, we are not the heroes, we are just people who are learning to adapt.”
Check out the full article at the link in our bio / on the news page of our website 💖 #limblossawarenessmonth
Rachel is also one of the FWD-Doc members participating in the @disabilityfilmchallenge . We’ll be highlighting other member films in an upcoming post very soon!
When this year’s Disability Film Challenge was announced, Rachel Handler (@bionic.brunette ) immediately knew she wanted to give her cast and crew the extra ‘challenge’ of shooting the whole film in one take, as a 'oner.' She said, “I come from a theatre background, and my co-star Pavar is a stand up comedian, so filming a oner felt like a no brainer! It’s what we’ve trained our whole lives to do.”
