📣Presentem Cebrennus herculis, una nova espècie d'aranya! 📣 Aquesta aranya de més d'1 cm de longitud habita zones àrides i semiàrides de la regió litoral i prelitoral d'Espanya 🌍 Diverses espècies del mateix gènere habiten el nord d'Àfrica, per la qual cosa és probable que el llinatge d'aquesta nova espècie quedés aïllat del de les africanes en el passat per l'obertura de l'Estret de Gibraltar🌊 La mitologia grega explica que Hércules va separar Iberia d'Àfrica creant l'estret, i per això dona el nom de C. herculis a l'espècie💪🏽
We present Cebrennus herculis, a new species of spider! 📣 This spider of more than 1 cm in length inhabits arid and semi-arid areas of the coastal and pre-coastal regions of Spain 🌍 Multiple species of the genus inhabit the north of Africa, so it is likely that the lineage of the new species split from that of the African species in the past after an opening of the Gibraltar Strait🌊 According to greek mythology, Hercules separated Iberia from Africa creating the strait, and thus C. herculis is named after him 💪🏽
