Please join us for a celebration of student achievement in a four-part reception in Bingham Gallery on Thursday, May 14 from 5:30-7:30PM! The annual senior showcase, Perceptible Trace, features the work of graduating BA and BFA students from the class of 2026. It will be on display from April 27 to May 22, 2026. Perceptible Trace is the culmination of these students' practices which have been developed during their time in the School of Visual Studies. Viewers can experience different mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, fibers, ceramics, photography, and video in this collaborative exhibition. Their works include themes such as the body, culture, politics, kinship, spirituality, and nostalgia. Despite the differences of material and ideologies, the showcase connects skillsets, interests, and lived experiences in which the artists come together to leave their last trace at the University of Missouri before a major milestone. Participants include Sun Anderson, Callie Brinkman, Maya Burden, Ashlyn Carlson, Jasmine Claros, Josi Edwards, Abby Girodat, Lila Gralnick, Cici Hernandez, Alisan Hoffman, Tanvi Kulkarni, Ryan Lonergan, Mackenzie Monari, Herbie Perkis, Stavan Sheth, Micki St. John (Tangy), and Brian Tischer. The Nude and the Naked, A Decade of Africa Clothe Me Bare by Yvonne Osei @eve_of_on On view: September 25 - October 17, 2025 Artist Talk: October 17, 4:30 - 5:30pm Reception: October 17, 5:30 - 7:30pm Yvonne Osei is a Ghanaian multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice spans performance, video, photography, textile design, and site-specific installations. Her work examines history’s omissions, structural racism, beauty, clothing politics, and colonial legacies in West Africa and the West. Through public interventions, she challenges cultural amnesia and amplifies marginalized voices. Osei holds an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis, an MS in Fashion Design and Business from Lindenwood University, and a BFA from Webster University. She has received numerous awards, including the 2022 Great Rivers Biennial Arts Award from the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, the 2023 Award for Distinction from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University, and a 2024 Artist Grant from the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis. She has attended residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, Fountainhead in Miami, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, among others. Osei’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Everson Museum of Art (Syracuse), The Africa Center (Harlem), the Saint Louis Art Museum, Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt (Germany), and the Art Gallery of Ontario (Canada).
