Good afternoon Bimmerspeed family
This F80 M3 came in for a concern of metal shavings in the oil pan and the owner wanted to do his crank hub, rod bearings and exhaust cam ledge bolts.
What we found was the engine oil was very thin and red like transmission fluid and there was a lot of metal shavings inside of it. Cylinder five had the bearing half spun which is a very large concern showing lack of maintenance or improper measurement from the factory.
I am telling everyone that is getting into these vehicles to make sure that they do their crank hub and Rod bearing service together and strongly recommend the cam ledges to be done as well as it is a preventative maintenance. This ensures that you will not have any problems!!

This is why I do not accept cars that were already taken apart with parts dispersed eveywhere.
This vehicle had an orgy with some oil and it decided to explode everywhere.
Now not only do we have an annoying repair.....we have an annoying clean up.
