Gallery 198 is proud to present In Reverie, a new solo exhibition of paintings by Anna Hurley-Echevarria.
Through imagery that is tender, strange, and unmistakably alive, paintings by emerging artist Anna Hurley-Echevarria “explore the boundary between the seen and unseen.”
Fantastical elements emerge as guides through interior terrains—hope, longing, love, courage—inviting viewers into a space where “the real and the magical converge.”
Rendered in glowing palettes and soft, diffused light, the works in In Reverie create a world that feels both intimate and mythic. They hold the viewer gently while revealing a quiet, shimmering strangeness.
About the Artist:
A native to Park Slope, Brooklyn, Anna Mee-Jin Hurley-Echevarria (b. 1997, New York) received her BFA in Painting from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture in 2019. Her practice centers on the poetic and the surreal, drawing from dream states, memory, and the emotional landscapes that blur the divide between inner vision and outward form.
Join us for the reception on Friday, December 5, from 6–9pm, to step into these luminous scenes and meet the artist.
Gallery 198 is located at 198 24th St., Brooklyn, NY 11232
