Jenny Wilkes: the Driving Force behind-the-scenes developing Wolves into a Club for the Future ✍️
Wilkes is the Chair of Wolves Girls and Women’s Football Club and spoke about her experiences - from starting her role in 1999 when women’s football was still in its infancy, to fully integrating the women’s section of the club and giving new life to Women’s Football at Wolverhampton Wanderers 🙌
A powerful journey from start to present with @wolveswomenfc who now play in the @fa.wnl and have long-term ambitions worth learning all about 👏

Well, this is certainly the strangest and most emotional start to a football season I've ever had.
Visiting my partner Pete in hospital after his prostate cancer op, he got out of bed and fainted, I instinctively tried to catch him, I broke his fall - and he broke my leg! 😩
No weight-bearing for me, no bending, lifting, or driving for Pete.
Frustrating times.
Unfortunately we won't be supporting Wolves Women Football Club or Wolverhampton Wanderers FC from the sidelines for a while, but we are most definitely there in spirit.
What a celebration! 🎉 Hosting Wolves Women players and staff spanning all generations from 1975 to 2025 to check out our new 50th anniversary Wolves Women display in the club’s museum.
And we topped it off with a 5-0 win in the Black Country derby! 🧡🐺
So sad to share the news that radio legend Tony Butler has passed away. He died peacefully in his sleep on Friday afternoon at the age of 88.
I first worked with Tony in 1982 when I had the job of twiddling the knobs for his Saturday sports show on BRMB. No commentary then - just “round the grounds” with reports, interspersed with music, and Tony’s inimitable banter.
Later we worked together at BBC Radio WM.
The man who invented the football phone-in. A true radio legend. ❤️
As birthdays go that was a pretty good one. And a bit of a contrast to last year’s in lockdown! Disappointed the Wolves Women game was off but a great 5-0 win for the Reserves to reach the final of the League Cup. Excellent day all round for Wolves fans. 🐺🧡
Two massive games today. Gutted not to be at the Wolves Women game at Castlecroft but off on a birthday treat trip to Spurs to see Wolves boys! Thanks for all the birthday messages. #comeonmebabbies 🐺🧡
