There are a lot of uncertainties right now and a 3-year-old going through all of this is absolutely painful to experience.  My son Gio, the kid on the right in this video (viewing angle), wasn't acting himself for a couple weeks. We took him to a doctor and they were concerned. The doc said to go straight to ER if symptoms got worse and sure enough that night they got worse… we took him to the ER and with some imaging they found a pretty big brain tumor growing on his cerebellum. He needed emergency surgery to remove it. Brutal!! they had to cut some of his skull out to operate-!! The surgery was a success but after testing the tumor it came back to be a high grade cancerous type “medulloblastoma” … he's going to need 7 to 9 months of chemo / recovery. The future is very uncertain for us right now, it's all nail biting on a day by day basis.. All I ask for is the continuation of prayers and positive energy for Gio to make a Full healthy recovery! 100% of my energy and focus will be going into uplifting my son and keeping him strong. If you see me posting beat videos and new music it was all pre recorded! .. we appreciate all the friends and family that has been holding us down through this whole unfortunate event …Love you!

Quick update on Gio: The MRI, spinal tap, and hearing test were all clear! ✨✨✨ And Gio got to ring the bell today! 🔔💛 He’ll be getting scans every few months from here on out to make sure the cancer does not come back. When I told Kai that Gio was coming home today, he asked, “For three days?” and when I said, “No, forever,” he danced around the room screaming, “Hooray!!!” We will be resting at home for the next few weeks as he recovers—though we’ll see how much “resting” he actually does… They were both running around the house the second they got home! 😅❤️ Thank you again for all the support, prayers, and love from all around the globe. WOW. We don’t even know where to start. Our community showed up in ways bigger than we ever imagined. Thank you to everyone who helped make this fundraiser such a huge success. We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who helped host, donated raffle items, attended, and to those who couldn’t be there but still donated and supported us from afar. We were so bummed we couldn’t be there in person, but our hearts are completely full. Your love and support will carry us through the rest of Gio’s healing journey. Gio started his 4th cycle of chemotherapy on Friday, and it’s been a very rough start. So much unexpected has happened—he had to undergo surgery to replace his catheter, and today he developed a fever. We know the road ahead will be intense, but we feel held up by every single one of you. This Sunday we're throwing a fundraiser for my son's cancer treatments at Same Same bar / restaurant in Carlsbad! @samesamecarlsbad ... All the proceeds for the day will be getting donated to my family ... We got tons of raffles and giveaways it's going to be a great time.. can't express how grateful me and my family are for all the people who've already been donating and lifting us up with prayer and positive energy. Same Same in Carlsbad Village is generously hosting a fundraising day for our family on Sunday, January 25th. It’s a family-friendly event — come dine, drink, and enjoy the day, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to our family. There will also be raffles and an amazing lineup of performances from 1–6 PM. Because we’ll be in the middle of Gio’s next chemo cycle and he’s expected to be neotropenic for an extended period of time (with zero white blood counts,) we’re not sure if we’ll be able to be there in person — though we truly wish we could be. We would be so grateful for our community to come together, have a great time, and support our family. We love you all. 💛

2025 was full of unexpected events for our family. Mostly really bad ones, but one beautiful surprise that came out of this year was discovering how big our community truly is and how so many of you are backing us and lifting us up. We have received support in so many different ways from so many of you. Without it, this journey would have been twice as hard, and some days we are just barely making it through. Thank you to everyone who has already shown us so much love and generosity. For those who may want to extend your support, the Mitchell Thorp Foundation has created a fundraising campaign for our family. All funds raised go directly to our vendors to help ensure Gio continues receiving the care he needs — both in the hospital and at home. We are almost at 50% of our goal. One thing we’ve learned quickly is that Gio’s battle doesn’t end when his scheduled chemotherapy finishes in April 2026. He won’t be considered “cured” until he passes a 5 year mark. He will be monitored closely for any cancer recurrence and will continue to be treated for long lasting side effects that may include developmental delays, balance and coordination challenges, hearing loss, and a higher risk of other cancers, among many others.
