“It’s the playoff atmosphere for an NBA game at every hockey game.”🦣 Matt played a big role in making “The Zammoth” what it is. His story is incredible and well worth the listen. Listen to our interview with him on the Utah Hockey Podcast!🎧 #utahmammoth #zammoth #kslsports #zamboni #nhl

It took me a few days to sit and piece a fantastic weekend celebrating! Mike turned 60 on May 9th, and we threw him a good ole fashion hoe down! Friends from near and far came and it was a night of laughter, love, and friendships! It exceeded every expectation I had putting it together! Big thank you to Zach, Tori, and Garrett couldn’t have done it without you! ❤️ Mothers Day was so lovely, the kids came and brought beautiful flowers. Mike had me start a new game and I am loving it, and if you know Mike you got to have all the things…golf clubs, shoes etc! And had a green house built for me! #60neverlooksogood❤️. #feelingblessed😇❤️

In May of 1983, Return of the Jedi came out in theaters. I had been saving up my money, not just for myself, but enough to pay for all three of us. I wanted to take my friend Ben Brown, and my older brother Matt was coming too. We rode with my dad to his work, 30 miles from home, and from there we walked about a mile and a half to Greenwood Park Mall in Greenwood, Indiana. When we got to the ticket window, we were 75¢ short. I had miscalculated by 25¢ per person. We immediately headed into the arcade, checking every coin return slot on every machine, the ones where people would forget their change after a game ended. Not a single quarter. Then we went out and searched the parking lot for loose change. Nothing. It never even occurred to us to ask a stranger for help. We just stood there staring at the Return of the Jedi poster hoping for a miracle that the money would appear. My older brother offered to wait outside so Ben and I could go in. We thought about it and then decided that if we couldn’t all go, none of us would go. We messed around the mall for a few hours to pass the time. Eventually we just walked back to my dad’s work and waited until my dad finished for the day. On that walk back, I turned to Ben and said, “One day I want to be rich enough to take all my friends to see Star Wars.” In December of 2015, when The Force Awakens came out in theaters, that’s exactly what I did. Some friends even dressed up. So did I. Here are some pictures from that day, living a dream I made a long time ago, but not in a galaxy far, far away. P.S. My friend Matthew Arnold let me use his storm trooper costume and he made his own Bob Fett costume. Best l've ever seen!

Had to push chemo so I could live yesterday fully… no regrets. Thank you for all the love on the Zamboni. That meant everything. Now it’s back to chemo. Answering the bell.

Today marks 11 years since I lost my friend Kade. I come here every year. Not because I want sympathy. I come because he mattered. Drugs kill people. Addiction doesn’t care who you are or how good your heart is. He was my friend. And I miss him. Life is fragile. It’s precious. You don’t always get a warning when time runs out. If this reminds you to check on someone you love, then it did what it needed to do.

Yesterday was a really good day. I got up and had breakfast with one of my oldest friends. We went through 7th grade all the way through graduation together, and here we are all these years later, still sitting across a table from each other. That alone would’ve made it a good day. Then my buddy Jim surprised me with something I’ll never forget. I didn’t even know esophageal cancer’s color was periwinkle, but he did. He had sweatshirts made for my entire family, plus cancer support bracelets. Seeing my wife and my boys light up like that… man. That hit deep. And then last night… holy hell. People showed up in force. The Egans rolled deep with their whole crew. My old boxing coach came out. Neighbors. Friends from every chapter of my life. I had people there that I graduated high school with 32 years ago. That kind of support humbles you in a way that’s hard to put into words. We put on a hell of a show. And for the first time ever… we got an encore. That moment is burned into my brain. I felt every ounce of love in that room. It meant everything to me. It meant everything to my wife and my kids. So thank you. Truly. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for reminding me how damn lucky I am to have the people I have in my corner. Here are some photos from last night. I’ve got some video coming too. Yesterday was just a really good day… and I’m grateful as hell for all of it.

Nobody wants to go get new glasses. But I figured now’s not the time to keep putting things off. New specs unlocked. Verdict??

Chemo, round one. Not going to sugarcoat it… this was rough. Double IVs, chemicals in my veins, and I feel completely wiped out. But I walked in. I walked out. And I’ll be back. One round down. We keep moving. Stand. Endure. Advance. Thanks for coming with me @sharla_b_arnold

Tonight my kid drove up from Provo just to see me. Brought me non-dairy Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough… which I didn’t even know existed. I’m lactose intolerant and haven’t had ice cream in like 10 years. This stuff was shockingly good. Small moments. Big love. 🍨❤️
