It feels trite to post things about my life right now. The world is palpably off-kilter. I guess it is always, but right now it feels particularly more fractured than at any point I can recall...like the future is delayed and forces, obfuscated and unprompted, have taken the reigns and pointed us toward the edges. I haven't said much to many, because I just don't think my voice is needed. But know, I love you. I'm sorry this is at it is. I want you and those you love and care for to be able to thrive and feel as if you (and they) have agency, dignity, self determination, and mostly, hope. You. Seeing this. I want that for you.
I was given a brief tour of Jim Henson's Creature shop this morning. I was transported. It was stirring. It was magic. I wish you could have been there. I wish we all could be there together, for just a few minutes.
Anyone know about fried capacitors / diodes / resistors?
My BOSS DR-55 drum machine needs some Love...help me DIY this and I'll make you a cheesy sandwich!! Or write you a cheesy song! I'll stop the world and melt for you!! (like these transistors)
An episode of my life came to a close today. Handed off the keys. 41 Broadway was the residence at which I lived longer than any other place I've ever called home in my time (and there have been lots!). Like most others, it was a (at times) dark and disturbing ride. But also with so many wonderful turns of phrase. Moments and people and failures and epiphanies. Forever you will be The Ghost House, as Gerard coined. You can collapse into the East River now old timer.
Happy Birthday!!! 🎉 @chelseakaiser
So grateful I get to navigate this astounding and challenging terrain with you. Eyes on the horizon. You're awesome. In the true way.
Playing an impromptu set with the formidable @friendshipcommanders and company at The Kingsland in Greenpoint tonight. Buick and Jerry always deliver the focus and bombast....as for me, I'm a bit ill prepared so there will be some experimentation and attempts to slog through new material. It should prove to be a real highwire walk...Come gawk and point! Show starts at 6!
