Georgia singer-songwriter Brother Wallaces releases his debut album, "Electric Love," on May 8, 2026, on ATO Records. The lead single from the album is, "Who's That?", which The Current's Bill DeVille says is one of the catchiest songs of the year.
During a live performance in the Forum at Minnesota Public Radio, Brother Wallace tells DeVille about the origins of the song "Who's That?"

It was nice to celebrate the season last night with Squirrel Nut Zippers and their Christmas Caravan tour, a mixture of calypso, hot jazz, swing, and vintage New Orleans sounds.
Way back in the early 80’s, I bought a live David Johansen album at Harpo’s Hot Licks in downtown Minneapolis, and then saw his fantastic show at First Avenue that night. He was like a slightly younger, punkier version of Mick Jagger. I became a big fan over the years. I loved his solo work and his alter ego Buster Poindexter. I also got to know the earlier New York Dolls music, and saw the surviving Dolls about 10 years ago. I’ve listened a bunch to his great 2000 album David Johansen & the Harry Smiths, a tribute to folk music of the 1920’s & 30’s, and I highly recommend the Martin Scorsese/ David Tedeschi documentary, “Personality Crisis: One Night Only.” David had a pretty rough ride the last few months, with cancer and a broken back. I bought a David Johansen t-shirt a few days back through Sweet Relief and wore it this week - my tribute to him. Thanks for the music, David, and rest in peace.
Did a live airshift on The Current at MN State Fair today, including United States of Americana. What a fun day! The highlight was the live set this morning from Maggie Rose. She was amazing! Go see her tonight at the Leinie Lodge at 8:30.
