Third time’s the charm.
November 10, 2016 was when I had this latte made—a lone moment of levity in an otherwise depressing and hopeless time. Little did I know it would still be as relevant as ever 8 years later.
My daughter was 10 months old at the time and I was scared for the world she was growing into. Fortunately, the atrocities Trump was committing were cut short before she was truly aware of the horrors he was inflicting upon our country. Or so I thought…
Here we are on the precipice of another calamity and here I am posting my “fuck Trump” latte for a third time. This time my daughter is almost 9 years old and very much aware of the world around her. I want her to know she is as valued and deserving of the same right to make her own decisions about her body and life as a man does. I want her to come of age in a world that treats people with decency and helps each other instead of tearing each other down. I want to move forward. I want to have hope again for myself, but more importantly, for her. And I want to never have to post a picture of this damn latte again.
Vote for the future. Vote Kamala. Let’s all collectively move past this insanity towards something better.
