It’s a surreal feeling to hold the end result of a 2 year process in my hands. After constant iteration, revision, and shifting goal-posts, I can’t believe we are at the point with this project where there’s no chance to second-guess. It just is what it is. DIY noise legends @102_i.o @pet.retina @voidpuppet make their return to Windsor at @meteorwindsor as part of their annual cross-Canada tour. The last time they were in town I slashed my finger open right before the show, but didn’t want to cancel so I taped it shut and did a fully improvised set with @crudeflame . We’re gonna try that again but with all the fingers this time. We also have one of my favourite emerging bands in the scene, @beautyindrowning playing some noisy math rock.

Some ambient improv from today’s practice session. The tape loop is a section from a Marcel Khalife piece, which I ran backwards through my tascam. Guitar is running through avalanche run and a zoom multi effects, and out of a jazz chorus 40. Not that it’s that clear with just a phone recording. #postrock #ambientmusic #guitarpedals #tapeloop

Next week I have the privledge of opening for @efrimmanuelmenuck and @one.leg.one.eye at @meteorwindsor HUGE thanks to @shawn_dundenberg @happylittlecrowd for making this happen. It’s not often that we get shows like this in Windsor, but Shawn has almost single handedly been making Windsor harder to overlook as part of touring routes. Gonna be trying a set of all new material for guitar and tape machine.

How does one describe or categorize the music of Bilal Nasser? Experimental? Post-classical? Shoegaze? Ambient? Musique concrète? It is as once all of these things and none of these things, because Nasser channels his inspirations and influences front and centre to create something genuinely unique, innovative and new. Palestinian-Canadian and hailing from Windsor, Nasser serves as a conduit for the most emotional aspects of political struggle, turning the collective tragedies experienced by his people into something heartbreakingly beautiful. We were privileged and honoured to host Bilal Nasser on March 21, 2026 for an intimate County Session where he showcased new material alongside old compositions to a stunned, jaw-dropped and captivated crowd.
