Can you already ride a bike but looking to refresh your skills? This class is for you.
Ready to Ride is a hands-on outdoor class where you'll build real skills: steering, weaving, controlled stops, and defensive cycling basics. We move at your pace, and all bodies, abilities, and learning styles are welcome.
Ages 13+. No bike or helmet? We'll loan you both at no charge. Scholarships available — cost should never be a barrier.

This morning, dozens of Durham riders biked to work together for Bike to Work Day.
The conversations along the way said a lot: people love biking to work. It makes them feel good, it sets the tone for their day, and more employers are making it easier with showers and other accommodations.
But we also heard what everyone already knows, that there are roads that still don't feel safe to ride on. We need more protected bike lanes, more connected infrastructure, more options for people who want to commute without a car.
Thank you to everyone who rode this morning, and to Acme Plumbing and the Research Triangle Foundation for making it happen.
Tomorrow is Bike to Work Day! Two group rides, both ending with coffee and breakfast.
Ride 1: Meet at Solite Park at 7:15am, roll out at 7:30 down the American Tobacco Trail to CCB Plaza by 8:00am. Want to keep going? Jump in with the group heading to RTP.
Ride 2: Meet at CCB Plaza by 8:00am for a group ride to Boxyard RTP. Leave by 8:15.

Y’all make sure you get yourselves out to @bikedurham ’s annual bike stampede tomorrow! Last year there were over 170 riders and this year there are even more already registered. Link in bio if you want to sign up!
There’s no better way to live that hyperlocal lifestyle than by getting around on your own two feet or two wheels. (And, in fact, Hyperlocal started as a zine subscription that was hand-delivered by bike by @hyper_isms back in 2023!) So this month we’ve got an updated and revamped version of the classic Hyperlocal zine on riding bikes in Durham, which now features spiciness meters for different local bike rides, resources, shops, tips on places to ride (and where NOT to ride), and more. along with the zines, there will be some free registration stickers provided by @bikeindex to help prevent bike theft!
We’ll be rolling out so more special stuff for Bike Month this year so stayed tuned! 🚲
These confident kiddos from Club Boulevard Elementary in Durham get to bike to school on a regular basis thanks to the Ellerbe Creek Trail adjacent to the school! Club is one of several Durham Public Schools where parents and students #bikebus to school. Our friends over at Bike Durham joined this one for the national Bike & Roll to School Day on May 6th!
Did we mention there's a costume contest at the Bike Stampede? The theme is Bull City. 🐂🐂🐂
