Not even gale force winds could stop the Green Team and Mr. Jimmy from Queens HS for Language Studies in Flushing from showing up for their city’s trees 🌳💨 The students noticed two tree beds near a bus stop had severe compaction from heavy foot traffic, and spent 30 minutes aerating soil that turned out to be clay and sand instead of soil 💪
The crew also adopted a newly planted Ginkgo in front of their school and named it Duckie 🌱🦆

Our knowledgable and experienced staff hosts weekly tours and volunteer composting events which allow us to give compost back to the community. Join the festivities and meet our amazing team!

These students are now official tree stewards, learning that they can remove litter, pull weeds, loosen soil, and apply mulch anytime they want, no city permit needed 💚💪
