Rapping Paper: Gift Raps 2 is out now!
Seeing my client and brother, @kingchip , release this album is one of those moments that makes you stop and reflect.
I first became a fan back in 2008/2009. Gift Raps dropped in 2011 while I was in college and I bumped it daily. I was at the shows in the early 2010s. Over time we became cool, showed mutual love, and stayed in touch as life moved forward. Years later, I went to law school, built my practice, and one day it simply made sense for me to step in as his lawyer.
That part wasn’t planned. It was organic.
One thing I always tell students when I teach or guest lecture is that networking isn’t always transactional or immediate. Sometimes it’s instant. Sometimes it’s a long game measured in years. The common thread is authenticity. Showing up consistently. Actually knowing the person and the business, not just the law.
Don’t get me wrong, as an attorney, knowing the law is essential. But knowing the business is what allows you to really serve your client. In this case, that meant years of being a fan and supporter, and a firsthand witness to the journey early on.
Nearly a decade later, we’re family. Our families are family. And I’m grateful every day for the trust.

Hard to believe it’s already been a year since we dropped Sneaker Law V2. From classrooms to courtrooms to creatives and entrepreneurs all over the world, this book has been pushing the culture forward in ways we only dreamed of.
The past year has been filled with conversations, lectures, collaborations, and most importantly, community. None of this happens without you all rocking with us, supporting the mission, and proving that sneakers, business, and law really do belong in the same sentence.
Here’s a look back at some moments from the V2 journey so far. And while today is all about V2, it also marks 5 years since V1, which is proof that what started as a crazy idea has grown into something much bigger than a book.
