I know I haven’t posted in a while, but a lot has happened since I last put anything up on here. As pretty much all of you know, 2025 started off with a dose of existential dread for us living in the US, given the kind of leadership we were about to be under post-election. That reality has only gotten bleaker in the months since. What I’ve also witnessed is this boom of creativity and the opportunities that come with it for myself and a lot of the people making art around me. That may seem a bit trite in the face of what’s currently happening here, and in other parts of the world, where unchecked power is sowing fear and harm, but it has been a silver lining I’ve clung to dearly amid the chaos.
I want to give a massive thanks to
@gregoryhervelin ,
@serioparadiso ,
@mrtomgriffith and everyone else at
@lomography.embassy.barcelona for giving me the opportunity to host my first-ever solo show, and in Barcelona, no less. I honestly don’t have the adequate words to express how much the experience meant to me. I also want to thank
@nora_lalle , the people at
@eastbayphotocollective ,
@pablocirca and
@essiwesterman for helping me keep that momentum going, and giving me the opportunity to be in an exhibition at home in the Bay Area. Being able to share my work with y’all in a tangible space has really helped keep my head in a more positive place than it would otherwise be, given the state of the world.
I want to give a special thanks to my go-to print master,
@jesseshootsfilm , along with
@brian_brooks and
@underdogfilmlab for bearing with my unorganized collection of negatives and bringing my photos to life in print.
And lastly, the biggest THANK YOU to all of you who have supported my photography in any kind of way. It has meant so much to me on my photo journey, and I hope that any photo I’ve shared with y’all has helped illuminate whatever silver lining you may be clinging to amid the darkness we’re all currently grappling with.
Sincerely,
Bejan
