✨ Healing, love & mystery in the shadow of war ✨ For the very first time, CinEast and @bifflux will join forces for a common screening on 10 October (BIFFL’s last / our first!) - and we are proud to present “Sanatorium”, a moving and entertaining documentary by Gar O’Rourke @garorourke By the way, the film is Ireland’s submission to the upcoming Oscars! Set in the pastel-coloured Kuyalnyk health resort near Odesa, “Sanatorium” blends tenderness and absurdity: Soviet-era therapies, legendary black mud, and the search for renewal unfold against the backdrop of nearby airstrikes. A unique portrait of resilience, hope, and humanity in uncertain times. 🎬 SANATORIUM / Gar O’Rourke / Ukraine, Ireland / 2025 / 90’ 📅 Fri | 10 Oct | 19.00 (the only screening!) 📍 Ciné Utopia 🎟 Tickets available via the link in the bio Screened in the framework of our Warm-up Weekend and the Special Ukrainian programme. #CinEast #CinEast2025 #CinEastFestival #FilmFestival #CEECinema #FilmInLuxembourg #CinemaInLuxembourg

Huge shout out to Charel for joining us for the screening of Flight 149: Hostage of War. This horrifying documentary follows Charel and others, as they fight for the British government to reveal the truth about the flight that led to them becoming human shields in Kuwait. . . Photos ©️ @ali84sahib

Director Frank Mannion joined us earlier this week for the screening of his documentary A Sip of Irish. . And did we learn a lot! . 🍷There are many Irish-established vineyards in France! 🤗The Guinness family set up its Nigerian brewery as a philanthropic effort to create jobs and wealth . There were many other insights into Ireland's contribution to the culinary and drinks world, but we think you should watch the documentary.

Here's a few from our shorts evening earlier this week. . @elaine.kennedydingle came from the emerald isle. She was here for the screening of her wonderful Cogar. The fictional film shines a spotlight on the normalisation of female abuse in Ireland until relatively recently. . The winners of our last Young Filmmakers' Competition screened their latest documentary, filmed at the Galway Film Fleadh. .

Here's a few pics from last night's screening of The Negotiator - an amazing documentary about George J. Mitchell, whose patience and skills helped pave the way for the Good Friday Agreement.
