For the very first time, CinEast and @bifflux will join forces for a common screening on 10 October (BIFFL’s last / our first!) - and we are proud to present “Sanatorium”, a moving and entertaining documentary by Gar O’Rourke @garorourke By the way, the film is Ireland’s submission to the upcoming Oscars!
Set in the pastel-coloured Kuyalnyk health resort near Odesa, “Sanatorium” blends tenderness and absurdity: Soviet-era therapies, legendary black mud, and the search for renewal unfold against the backdrop of nearby airstrikes. A unique portrait of resilience, hope, and humanity in uncertain times.
