Located at a higher learning institution in Cambridge, this 550sf makerspace lab provides a hands-on learning environment where students can be “messy” and experiment with different types of materials while working with laser cutter and 3-D printers. The makerspace features flexible work bench furniture that can be rearranged to accommodate teaching needs. Lessons learned include utilizing glass between this lab and surrounding space to foster passerby curiosity as well as thought out storage needs and the necessity for numerous electrical outlets throughout the lab.

Our project at 275 Medford St in Charlestown was nominated for a Boston Preservation Alliance Award! Vote for the Terminal Storage Building as your fan favorite! The original deteriorating building was restored and renovated into 121 loft apartments and 2 commercial spaces, adding vibrancy to Charlestown.
