Lovely meet up with the Annie and the team at good hope hospital last Friday. We heard about the willow unit at heartlands now open for three months and over 20 births already. The mlu births at good hope have also increased to over 50 births in the last 6 months. We also had chance to look round the lovely birth centre again. And see the beautiful birth planning visuals being used xx

Another wonderful gathering Heartlands💛 Big thanks to Annie Lester for welcoming us so warmly. It was great to visit the Willow Birth Centre and offer input into the soon-to-open space - such an important opportunity to shape the environment for the families we support. Thank you to everyone who came along, for your voices, your insight, and the deep sense of connection you bring. These gatherings always feel so special - Here’s to continued collaboration, shared learning, and nurturing relationships between community and hospital-based care. @yogibirdsyoga @rachelnolanbirth @bethelhhn

✨ we brought together an incredible group for a workshop preparing for an exciting NIHR bid focused on Gestational Diabetes (GD) and movement — a topic too often overlooked or communicated in ways that place blame on those living with GD. 💜 We know that GD is complex — it’s not just about “being more active” or “eating better.” It’s about navigating medical systems, cultural expectations, mental health, family life, and so much more. This research aims to co-produce holistic, community-led interventions — designed with people with lived experience, academics, and clinicians together — to create meaningful, practical, and culturally sensitive support. 🌱 And of course, the workshop had all the vibes you expect from Cysters: paid participation ✅, samosas and spring rolls ✅, cultural connection ✅, and a space where everyone felt seen and heard. 💫 Creating safe, co-produced spaces like this — where PPIE (Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement) is done properly — is what Cysters does best. If you’re looking to work with us on authentic, inclusive research, get in touch! #GestationalDiabetes #Cysters #CommunityLedResearch #MaternityJustice #CoProduction #ParticipatoryResearch #MaternalHealth #NIHR #SouthAsianHealth #HealthEquity #DecolonisingHealth #PPIE #PaidParticipation #CystersVibes
