BGSU Opera Theatre is thrilled to be presenting G.F. Handel's Acis and Galatea on Oct. 31st at 8pm and Nov. 2nd at 3pm in the Donnell Theatre in the Wolfe Center! - Singing the role of Polyphemus is second year M.M. student Logan Gutierrez! Originally from Florida, Logan Gutierrez is a young baritone actively performing throughout northwest Ohio. He is currently a second year Masters student studying Vocal Performance at Bowling Green State University, and received his undergraduate degree from Florida Gulf Coast University. Logan has participated in several opera productions in both Florida and Ohio, performing roles such as Papageno from The Magic Flute, Aeneas from Dido and Aeneas, and Mr. Bluff from The Impressario. This spring, he will be debuting the role of Peter in Hansel and Gretel.

John Dorschner is a first year master’s student studying voice performance. Dorschner’s previous roles include Count Barigoule from Viardot’s Cendrillon, Jupiter from Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld, Pepíček in Krása’s Brundibár, and Toad from Rutter’s Wind in the Willows. He also participated in St. Croix Valley Opera’s summer voice program in 2024.

Handel's Acis and Galatea on Oct. 31st at 8pm and Nov. 2nd at 3pm in the Donnell Theatre in the Wolfe Center! - Singing the role of Damon we have M.M. student, Britta Williams and B.M. student, Ellie Lewis! Williams previously played the role of Orinda in BGSU’s Matchless by Jonathan Kroeger, Gretel in Wartburg College’s Hansel and Gretel, Letitcia in The Old Maid and the Thief, Fiona in Brigadoon, and Amahl in Amahl and The Night Visitors. She also teaches voice at Toledo School for The Arts, Riverfront Studios, and Studio Connection. Ellie Lewis was previously in Magic Flute last spring, and has been in multiple musical theatre shows in high school, Lewis’s favorite role was when she played Sandy in Grease the Musical. They were also in the play, Radium Girls, her senior year, in which they played Grace’s mom. Lewis won first place in The Majorie Conrad Art Song competition last spring. She has also traveled to NY and Florida for pop vocal intensives and performed in these areas professionally including most recent intensive this October 10th weekend. Lewis has performed solo pop and musical theatre gigs all over Ohio this past summer, and at Howard's Club H and farmers markets and is very excited for their first principal role!

Handel's Acis and Galatea on Oct. 31st at 8pm and Nov. 2nd at 3pm in the Donnell Theatre in the Wolfe Center! - Presenting Galatea we have M.M. student Sofia Vasileiadou and B.M. student Audrey Ellen Martin! Sofia Vasileiadou is a first year Masters student in Voice Pedagogy performing the role of Galatea! Previously, Vasileiadou won the Kanellos Award in the Greek Women's University Club National Music Competition (April 2025), was in the Chorus in Detroit Opera's La Traviata (October 2024,) sang Gretel in Vienna Opera Academy's Hänsel und Gretel in Musikverein, Vienna (July 2023,) and won 3rd place in Marjorie Conrad Art Song Competition (March 2023.) Audrey Ellen Martin is a third-year undergraduate studying Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, and she is thrilled to perform the role of Galatea! She recently appeared as the First Spirit in The Magic Flute with BGSU Opera and regularly performs throughout the Midwest, as well as having toured in Italy. In addition to her involvement with the BGSU Opera program, Audrey sings with the BGSU Collegiate Chorale. She also serves as a Music Ambassador for the College of Musical Arts and as Vice President Membership for the Gamma Omicron chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota.

Most recently, Clark sang Edward Bloom in Big Fish in Defiance, OH. His quartet, Praxis, earned 20th place in the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2024 International contest.
