🎉 Today, Black Girls in Tech Turns 5! 🎂 Five years ago, what began as a bold vision — to inspire, educate, and empower Black girls and women in tech — has blossomed into a thriving global movement. From our founding in 2020, through the UK, Ireland, Nigeria and beyond, we’ve built more than just programs: we’ve built a community. Over the past half-decade, thanks to our remarkable members, mentors, volunteers, partners and supporters, we have: Created inclusive spaces where Black women are seen, heard, and celebrated in technology. Delivered bootcamps, a Cyber Academy, mentorship programmes and curated learning resources that level the playing field. Grown our reach to 30,000+ globally, across hubs in the UK, Ireland, Nigeria, Ghana and beyond. But this anniversary is more than a milestone — it’s a reminder of what’s possible when passion meets purpose. It’s a celebration of every Black girl and woman whose life has been touched: who stepped into tech for the first time, gained confidence, found a mentor, or witnessed a role model who looks like them. 🙏 To all who have joined us in this journey — thank you. You are the heartbeat of this movement. Looking ahead, we’re more committed than ever to increasing representation, breaking down barriers, and accelerating impact. Let’s continue to imagine, build and uplift together. Our UI/UX Bootcamps are BACK !!! BGIT is excited to host our next cohort of our UI/UX Design Bootcamp designed specifically for beginners and aspiring UX professionals. In addition to our comprehensive curriculum, we bring a wealth of experience: over the past four years, our bootcamps have trained hundreds of women who have gone on to land roles in the UX industry.
