🎉 Today, Black Girls in Tech Turns 5! 🎂 Five years ago, what began as a bold vision — to inspire, educate, and empower Black girls and women in tech — has blossomed into a thriving global movement. From our founding in 2020, through the UK, Ireland, Nigeria and beyond, we’ve built more than just programs: we’ve built a community. Over the past half-decade, thanks to our remarkable members, mentors, volunteers, partners and supporters, we have: Created inclusive spaces where Black women are seen, heard, and celebrated in technology. Delivered bootcamps, a Cyber Academy, mentorship programmes and curated learning resources that level the playing field. Grown our reach to 30,000+ globally, across hubs in the UK, Ireland, Nigeria, Ghana and beyond. But this anniversary is more than a milestone — it’s a reminder of what’s possible when passion meets purpose. It’s a celebration of every Black girl and woman whose life has been touched: who stepped into tech for the first time, gained confidence, found a mentor, or witnessed a role model who looks like them. 🙏 To all who have joined us in this journey — thank you. You are the heartbeat of this movement. Looking ahead, we’re more committed than ever to increasing representation, breaking down barriers, and accelerating impact. Let’s continue to imagine, build and uplift together. If you’ve been part of Black Girls in Tech in any way — as a member, mentor, partner or supporter — drop a comment: tell us what it’s meant to you, and what you hope for in the next 5 years. 💬 Here’s to many more years of strength, growth, sisterhood and empowerment. 🎯

Why is community so important ?? When we walk alone, challenges can feel overwhelming. But when we walk together, we find encouragement, wisdom, and the reminder that we’re not in this journey by ourselves. Community matters because: ✨ It creates a safe space where voices are heard and valued. ✨ It provides support when the road gets tough. ✨ It sparks collaboration, opening doors we couldn’t unlock alone. ✨ It reminds us that success is sweeter when it’s shared. No matter what you’re building — a career, a business, or a dream — community is the soil where potential takes root and flourishes.

A huge thank you to our incredible guest speakers at the Black Girls in Tech Mixer Event 🎉 We were honored to have the lovely , Ijeoma, Blessing, and Laura share their insights on building your personal brand. Zeda then inspired us with her talk on the power of self-expression in the workplace, reminding us of the importance of authenticity. To wrap up the day, we had an engaging segment with the Get the Gist Podcast, who helped us navigate our dilemmas with their wisdom and humor. It was an amazing day of connection, learning, and celebration with like-minded professionals. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! #BlackGirlsInTech #WomenInTech #PersonalBranding #SelfExpression #Community #Empowerment
