What an inspiring finish to an incredible season! 💙👟 Last Saturday, our Boys & Girls Club/YMCA Heart & Sole team crossed the finish line at their fun and empowering Girls on the Run FDL County 5K event at Fond du Lac High School — and their teamwork continued long after race day ended! This week, the team celebrated their season with a swim day at the YMCA, where the girls encouraged one another to conquer the waterslide, even when some were nervous to try it. Watching these girls support, uplift, and cheer each other on off the track is exactly what Girls on the Run is all about! 🌟 A special thank you to all coaches and running buddies for supporting our girls, and to Jennie at the YMCA for turning the slide on just for our team and helping make the day extra memorable! The future is taking shape at the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac! 🚧✨ Earlier this week, our incredible community partners at C.D. Smith Construction officially broke ground on the southeast side of our building, where our brand new cafeteria will soon be located! Crews have also begun preparing for the exciting expansion of our front entrance which will improve safety and security as we continue building even greater opportunities for the youth we serve each day. We can’t wait to watch this project come to life over the next few months, and we’re so grateful for the continued support from our community that is helping make these improvements possible. 💙 As construction continues, please remember that some entrances and parking areas are being impacted. We just wrapped up another amazing month of Workforce Wednesday, and WOW - what a FUN school year it’s been! 🤩 In April, Club members stepped into the role of scientists, diving into hands-on learning with a “Lemon Volcano” experiment that brought chemistry to life right before their eyes. Each room was filled with excitement as creations fizzed and bubbled, and the kids truly embraced thinking, acting, and experimenting like real scientists! 🧪✨ Beyond the fun, they built important skills like critical thinking, active listening, and curiosity about future careers in science and beyond. 💫 We are SO proud of all the hard work our Club members put in this year as they explored different career paths and discovered new interests. The growth, confidence, and enthusiasm we’ve seen has been incredible and this is just the beginning! Today, our Chegwin Boys & Girls Club members celebrated their favorite Lunch Hero — Mrs. Debbie! 💙🍎 They had so much fun surprising her with handmade cards filled with sweet messages and appreciation for all she does each day. From serving meals with a smile to making kids feel cared for and welcomed, Mrs. Debbie is an important part of the Club experience for so many of our members.
