Though I spent many years working for CN at Turner- The first time I met Ted Turner was 1989 when he came to DIC to develop CAPTAIN PLANET. CN wouldn’t launch until 1992. What was clear was that Ted was passionate about saving the planet and ultimately about animation! He knew very well how to connect to kids and he knew animation could change the world!
Rest in peace Ted Turner. The man who knew we needed more than 24 hour news - we needed 24 hours of CARTOONS! They..”are for everybody”. Thank you sir 🫡

Clone Wars was one of the very, very few times the studio produced a program based on an existing IP. but it was a BIG IP - so how could we say no. Besides, Lucas personally wanted Genndy for this and the results show why. It was also the first ever “micro-series”… #tstarwars #maythe4th #clonewars
My first day at Nickelodeon Animation they put me in a conference room and handed me a VHS tape. They said “watch this, it’s our next series” That video was “Help Wanted” I remember laughing out loud when I watched it Today is the anniversary of the premiere of that pilot in 1999 - ANCHOVIES!! The pilot killed and that was rare. The rest is history!
So sorry to hear of the passing of Sid Krofft today. He was a true legend. I will always be grateful for the incredible imagination he brought to my childhood through his work. When I had the chance to meet him, he was unbelievably kind and generous. Thank you Sid for making the world a TRIPPIER place. Rest in peace, you will be missed. @sidkrofft
