From the skies to one of the world’s most remote islands. ✈️
On 9 May 2026, an Atlas A400M flew from Ascension Island to Tristan da Cunha, delivering paratroopers and vital medical supplies to support personnel and residents on the island.
Six paratroopers from 16 Air Assault Brigade jumped from the aircraft, including tandem jumps with a nurse and doctor to provide medical support on the ground.
Alongside the team, the A400M also carried out airdrops of essential medical supplies.
Astronaut Tim Peake and Spitfires 😲 ✈️
For the final flight of Spitfire90, it was joined by Major Timothy Nigel Peake CMG, a retired British European Space Agency astronaut and Army Air Corps officer 🧑🚀
The commemorative event was a unique opportunity to honour the legacy of the iconic Spitfire, and raised over £100K for RAF charities 🎉
