A day immersed in history, form, and timeless craftsmanship at the National Museum, New Delhi. From ancient sculptures to intricate narratives carved in stone, every gallery offered a deeper understanding of art’s evolution. As BFA students, this field visit wasn’t just an excursion—it was a living classroom, where theory met tangible heritage. Grateful for the experience, the inspiration, and the stories carried through centuries. 🎨 #fieldtrip #NationalMuseum #artstudents #bfajourney #arthistory

We would like to invite you all to the Panel Discussion scheduled on 19th March 2026, 02:30 pm onwards This panel brings together Susanta Mandal and Shailesh B.R. for a conversation that moves beyond kinetic art to reflect on the broader trajectories of artistic practice. Spanning two generations, the discussion will explore how artists come into being through processes of learning, unlearning, experimentation, and sustained engagement with materials and ideas. The conversation will trace their individual journeys, how influences, contexts, and decisions have shaped their practices, and consider how artistic languages develop across time. It will also reflect on the role of kinetic thinking within a larger framework of making, where movement becomes one of many ways to engage with time, perception, and experience. By bringing these perspectives together, the panel offers insight into continuity and change within contemporary art. It will highlight how practices are not formed in isolation, but evolve through dialogue, context, and lived experience. The session will also consider how different generations negotiate similar concerns through distinct methods, materials, and conceptual approaches. Rather than positioning kinetic art as a fixed category, the discussion opens it up as a way of thinking, one that intersects with broader questions of process, transformation, and temporality. In doing so, the panel invites audiences to reflect on what it means to sustain a practice over time, and how artists continuously reshape their work in response to shifting artistic, cultural, and material conditions. “Attended an incredibly insightful session with artist Jagannath Panda—left with more thoughts than answers (in the best way). It wasn’t just about art, but about how experiences, memory, and surroundings quietly shape what we create. Feeling inspired to observe more, think deeper, and trust the process a little more than before 🎨 Grateful for spaces like these that make you pause and reflect on your own journey.”
