As part of the 8th Grade Bridge to Beyond program, sponsored by Beyond Breakthrough, scholars had the opportunity to enjoy a day of team-building, connection, and memory-making before they head off to high school.
Day 2 will take place on the campus of Cleveland State University, where scholars will participate in an interactive day of mindset and motivational sessions designed to further empower them for success in their high school experience.

My'riah is an exemplary Breakthrough scholar who has exhibited strong character and academic excellence since she attended Village Prep. My'riah had many high school options, and will be attending @gilmouracademy on a full Howley Scholarship. She plans to participate in soccer, swimming and cheer while at Gilmour and has aspirations of being a CEO one day.

Alyssa has been a student at Midtown since Kindergarten. She exhibits strong personal and academic achievements and exudes pride for her school community. She is this year's Valedictorian and will be attending Beaumont in the fall. Have a great summer and start to high school Alyssa!

Beyond Breakthrough recently explored arts careers in Cleveland with an inspiring group of alumni. The experience included a selection of short films highlighting Black cinema at the 50th annual Cleveland International Film Festival, followed by a hands-on printmaking session at @zygotepress .
