I was sad to hear of Ted Turner’s passing. I had the opportunity to see him in 2007. Below is my interview with him. He was an amazing human being. We need more of his kind in the world. #tedturner #interview #texanwriter #vintage #beyond70ish
Nature is amazing! I planted this nice little rose bush a few years ago and it’s been a joy to watch these blossoms come alive. Such a blessing to go down the steps and see these beauties #beyond70ish #loviesue #texanwriter #spring #roses
It’s a lazy day after Easter with Max, a messy vanity, pics on the wall with my black and white former self around 1963. Spring has bloomed and so has I!

I paid a visit to my grandmother recently. She is buried in Galveston, Texas. She lived a short life, had 5 children, was a devoted Catholic, a beautiful lady, with long dark hair that she piled atop her head. The picture I have of her she is dressed in lace with a quiet smile. in 2001, family members ordered a new headstone. Today it still shines bright, even in the wind. #grandmothers #loviesue #vintage #beyond70ish #texanwriter

The Deer Park, Texas class of 1962 came together this week to reunite and remember the good old days. We walked or took the bus to school, we didn’t have any cell phones, we wrote with pencil and ink in cursive, we had a damn good football team, we went to the movies, hung out at the local drive-ins in our parents’ cars, we had televisions with only 3 channels and one house phone, some with party lines. There were about 130 in our graduating class, we were a close bunch. A few got drafted and went to Vietnam, several went to college, got jobs, and everyone went their separate ways. We were a close bunch and kept in touch through the years. Thanks to Gerald Kuehler, we have managed to come together over the years, sharing stories, meeting for lunch, coming together to revisit our youth, sharing our accomplishments and to remember those who are no longer with us. We will meet again next year and continue to keep in touch as the days go by. This quote from The Office says it all: “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” — Andy Bernard #vietnam #reunion #beyond70ish
