Well… here goes nothing :)
I’m Becky, I’ve been working as a hair & make-up artist for 12 years since graduating from
@vfsmakeupdesign in 2014, and I worked in theatre for 4 years before that. Make-up, Hair & Prosthetics is all I have wanted to do ever since I snuck into see Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring when I was far too young to see it! I stepped up to department supervisor in 2021, I love my job and I can’t imagine working in any other industry! I am keen to join the
@lastlooks.crew mentoring scheme to gain guidance on networking, career progression, and stepping up within my department into future management roles.
I have mentored entry level roles, I loved this and felt I learnt as much from them as I was trying to pass on - every day’s a school day! Despite not ever getting any negative feedback, I have often had imposter syndrome kick in and wonder if I am helping as much as I could be. I would value the opportunity to build confidence in my abilities and develop the skills needed to communicate effectively with colleagues and leaders across all departments.

@lastlooks.crew for a few years now and the amazing group of people you have mentoring with you, the chance to be mentored by any of the incredible line up would be life changing.
Having a mentor would support me in gaining broader perspective and strengthening my leadership capability. This opportunity would support me in moving beyond my current role and intentionally shaping the next stage of my career.
