A dear friend of ours, Ruby Duke, runs Raven & Boar, a small pig farm and charcuterie operation in the Hudson Valley. Paul has worked with her for over a decade. This isnât just a businessâitâs one of those rare places built on real care, real labor, and a commitment to doing things the right way, even when itâs harder.
Right now, theyâre in trouble. Small farms are operating on impossibly thin margins, and when something goes wrong, thereâs no buffer. Over the past couple of years theyâve been hit with flooding, equipment failures, herd illness, and rising costsâthe kind of things a larger operation can absorb, but a small one canât.
Theyâre trying to stay open. Thereâs a GoFundMe to help them stabilize and keep going.
If youâre in a position to donate, it truly matters.
We talk about âlocal foodâ like itâs a lifestyle choice. But itâs really infrastructure. And it only exists if we choose to support it.

2016: the year of USC and disco, inexplicably dying my hair black for like a month, moving from NYC â> LA, making a bunch of forever friends and a couple of subpar short films. A simpler time. đźâđšđđ
Happy 3rd birthday James!! Three years of smiles, snuggles, sticky fingers, wild joy, and the worldâs best sound: your laugh. Happy birthday to my favorite tiny Paw Patroller, my boychik. đ
This Motherâs Day, I want to celebrate every beautiful moment I had with Daisy and continue to have with James. I also want to celebrate all of the fabulous mothers around me. Mothering takes many forms, and you can scroll through to see some of my favorites. Much love to all you moms out there â youâre doing great. đ
