Last night was a big win for startups, founders, innovators, and our small business community. Tech Fuel is back and stronger than ever. We packed the house at UTSA’s San Pedro I in downtown San Antonio. Out of more than 80 applicants and 25 semifinalists, five outstanding startups took the stage to compete and help build a stronger future for Bexar County. Congratulations to this year’s winners: Grand Prize ($50,000): Freyya 🥇
2nd Place ($25,000): RentBamboo 🥈
Honorable Mention ($7,500): Openlane
Audience Vote ($10,000): RentBamboo
Participation ($2,500): All finalists, including Bytewhisper Security and Comeback Mobility Bexar County is no longer just participating in innovation. We are shaping it. Building companies. Building careers. And building the future of San Antonio.

Last night, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of 34 new solar streetlights in Precinct 1, thanks to the hard work of @rebecaclayflores . 💡✂️ These off-grid lights are a game-changer for the neighborhood—improving safety for walkers, keeping our streets cleaner, and brightening up the community we love. 🌟 A huge thank you to the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development, Dalkia Energy Solutions, and Fonroche Lighting America for partnering with us to make this $295k+ investment a reality. 💡

🏠✨ We’re proud to partner with @samministries to celebrate the grand re-opening of The Hudson Apartments! After a 2024 fire displaced 23 households, this Permanent Supportive Housing community has been restored to provide safe, stable housing and on-site services for residents. Bexar County is also investing $2.1M in a new Wellness Center to expand supportive services and help create lasting pathways to stability. We’re grateful to work alongside our community partners to make milestones like this possible. 💙

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Winter Coat Drive! Your generosity is already making a difference for those in need. A special thank you to our employees for stepping up in such a big way, and to Cathy Hamilton @hamilton5364 and San Antonio Threads @sanantoniothreads for the generous donation of winter clothing. We are also grateful to our partners at the Bexar County Economic and Community Development Department @bexarecd for quickly picking up donations ahead of the incoming inclement weather to help serve our community. 👉 We are still collecting donations through January 30th, including new and gently used coats, jackets, and gloves. Your kindness continues to bring warmth and hope to our community. Thank You for Helping Us Spread Warmth 🧤💙 🧥 #bexarcountyclerk #countyclerkbc #WinterCoatDrive #givingbacktothecommunity
