✨ Meet the Maker ✨ Hey, I’m Becca. A marketer by day, artist by night. The face behind @bex_create_ 🎨 I was born in London, but now call Melbourne home. Spending most of my days balancing creativity with corporate. Bex Create started with a simple idea; that there was so much beauty in all the little moments. That these moments could be captured through ink on paper. This then escalated from sketches on a page, to products and commissions turning your meaningful moments and into lifelong memories you can see. From wedding invites to architectural drawings of your favourite places - I love helping people celebrate the little things that matter most 💕 But it’s not all pen to paper, outside of the sketchbook, you’ll find me either moving my body through Pilates, strength training, running, hiking (or anything that gets me outdoors). Or with exploring new hotspots in Melbourne, wine bars, pubs, restaurants. Life’s about balance eh? ⚖️ I honestly have the biggest soft spot for all animals, I love dogs, and dog sit on the regular. I used to ride horses, which took me round the world 🌍 … Because travel has always been a huge part of my life, from volunteering in Nepal, teaching horse riding at a YMCA camp in America and working on farms across Australia. These adventures helped me look for the beauty in the world and continue to inspire my art and outlook on life daily ✨ It’s honestly great having you around here, I’m blessed to have such a beautiful bunch of people following along in my journey… I can’t wait to share some big announcements with you soon & am excited to keep building this ‘little arty girls’ dream 💭 Bex xoxo Photo credit: the wonderful @halfmooncreative_ @stephhabes #meetthemakers #facebehindthebusiness #artistbehindtheart #melbourneillustrator #finelineartist

✨ Let’s talk about art commissions ✨ I know asking “how much?” can sometimes feel a little intimidating, but I want you to know it doesn’t have to be! When you commission a piece of art, you’re not just buying the artwork - you’re investing into a story, into something that's completely unique, made just for you 🎨 I always aim to keep my prices fair, affordable, transparent, and reflective of the time and care that goes into the work. Whether it’s a wedding gift, a house portrait, or a special gift for someone you love, my goal is to make the process feel easy, exciting, and worthwhile 🌿 So if you’re curious about commissioning, please don’t be shy about reaching out. Standard pen & ink, watercolour or acrylic prices above, but if your thinking of getting something unique feel free to reach out and we can find what works for you together. No question is too small, and I’m always happy to chat through ideas and options. Your story deserves to be captured beautifully, and I’d love to help you bring it to life. 💫

Putting my obsessions out in the world, one piece of art at a time… food, travel, the places around us… that’s what this account is all about 💕 Celebrating the best of Melbournes restaurants, food and more through pen, ink and watercolour illustrations and making it my life ambition to get it out in the world as much as possible. As an illustrator from London living and loving my life in Melbourne I spend my free time drawing what we love about the cities we live in 🥰 #australianartist #melbourneillustrator #melbourneart #penandink #artwork

What an absolute delight this artwork was to create 🖊️ When you get clients who trust you, your vision and you work you’ve hit the jackpot! And, that’s exactly what working with the talented @amyfelicityrobinson is like ❤️ The idea was to create a concept, a visual that discribws a thought provoking poem, a journey through a story, and to create cover art that brought the audio to life. And…. This was the final concept the idea that made it all make sense, that attracted the listener to hear more. I would love to know what by looking at this art would you expect to be listening too? What’s the story that comes to mind? Poem audio in the comments below 👇 #coverart #artist #melbourneartist #penandinkdrawing #penart

The packing process is just as important as the art itself… You’ve spent hours creating a piece you know they’ll love ❤️ Now for the scary bit, sending it on its way to its new owner, it’s out of your hands so the best thing you can do is make sure you plan properly how you’ll protect your artwork in transit. I use: 1. Clear sealable acid free sleeve 2. Backing board 3. Bubble wrap 4. Brown packing paper 5. Bespoke plastic packaging for an added touch 7. Always include signed certificate of authenticity, thank you card and brand stickers 🥰 What’s your packing plan? #artistbehindtheart #artistpackage #artistpacking #boxing #melbourneartist

It all started with a poem, when another creative reached out and asked if I could bring her words to life ✍️ I was excited for the challenge, to create an audio book cover for a fantastic piece of poetry. I listened, I concerted and I came up with this idea 💡 A feeling we can probably all relate to right now… the feeling that AI is slowly intruding into our own thinking. A fear of losing sense of that side of our brain 🧠 So when I was asked of course I said yes.. because not only was it challenging, it was relevant. Do you like the final concept? To listen to the full poem visit the tapered @amyfelicityrobinson Instagram and head to the link in the bio - it was a pleasure creating this magic together ✨ #melbourneartist #melbourneillustrator #penandink #aidrawing #handdrawnart

This really does consume my life 🫠 Blocking out evenings, weekends, and taking art on holidays with me. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way… apart from more hours in the day 😂 I adore this part of my life, couldn’t imagine a world without it. #melbourneartist #melbourneillustrator #arthumor #artcomedy #artistofinstagram

The process behind the watercolour… This is a realistic set up of what it looks like when I’m painting watercolour pieces and the materials I use. 1. @winsorandnewton watercolour paints are a non negotiable 2. Hard pencils for sketching up to make sure I can rub put easily without seeing lines, I recommend an HB 3. @montmarteart fine tip paint brushes, they’re not expensive, are super fine and work perfectly for detail 4. Lana drawing pad is my obsession, I actually use it for everything, just love the cold pressed cotton feel, so smooth and the quality is exceptional #melbourneartist #artistsetup #artmaterials #watercolourpaint #artistbehindtheart
