K i l n C e r a m i c F a i rFEATURINGSeth Ceramics - If we were talking about what’s important to me, I’d talk about the hills, the sky and the city,  where nature unexpectedly emerges under rolling skies. I’d talk about lives lived, of people, birds and creatures- old, new, real and imaginary, all this is what I think about. Then I start to make, hand-building, sculpting, decorating, all the foundation of the narrative. How to get to @openupsheffield at Yorkshire Artspace, Persistence works today. My step by step guide...View from the Rutland pub, look for the signs and follow the curving path. Had a day out in York, we went to see the Making Waves exhibition, I was the woman who was compelled to look at everything from afar, in the middle and reeeally close up. I apologise as I'm not sure when I developed this particular art gallery behaviour.But the exhibition is wonderful, obviously in how it looks but also about whose lives the prints depict. Well worth a visit.@yorkartgallery #inspired #japan

I'm back in the studio thinking about @toastedceramicfair , but more specifically what's important about doing shows. I worked through all the feelings about seeing your work out there in the world and the part where you feel like you bare your soul.But this year I had many people turn up wearing brooches or necklaces they bought last year, one person even saying they wore it every day. I just can't describe how this made me feel. After trying to make things that connect us, either by what we like and enjoy or by sharing a vision of the world, then this is everything. I was a truly happy woman.Though selling this crazy crow brooch to someone who matched this scarf with this coat was also a pinnacle of joy. This is more style than I'll ever have, I'm living it through you!Thanks to @fishinkblog who had the presence of mind to capture it. Apologies I don't know the details of who bought it but if you see this thank you, you made me very happy.#corvid #corvidsofinstagram #churchcrow #northernpottersassociationse

Morning ️This weekend, @derbymuseums hosted the @toastedceramicfair and it was great Here’s my personal favourites from the fair:@bevseth @pippin_peacock @joseph_morgan_ceramics @nicstaceceramics We then popped the the Museum Of Making (my favourite ️) for lunch and were surprised by a flash mob choir! @thecollaborationchoir

Just before doors opened, day two @toastedceramicfair .Even as I write it's getting busy. Yesterday was great, nice and busy, lots of talks and demos and the fabulous tombola! It's been great getting out and meeting people.

New ideas for The Land We Live In series. Showing them at Toasted this weekend. I'm pretty excited to make more.So all you need to know @toastedceramicfairSaturday and Sunday in the Old Library, in the museum in the heart of Derby.Also I'm in the middle of @snailpottery @erinfinchceramics and @pippin_peacock feel I'm missing something in the naming of my work.#ceramiccreatures #landscape #derbymuseum

It's nearly here, the first show of the year. @toastedceramicfair I'm pretty excited!I mean I'm not actually ready, but in theory I'm excited. The first chance to see everyone again, to show new work ( I could tell the story of the struggle to get it there but I strongly suggest you don't ask) . To do first show stuff like forget all essentials, then make new friends borrowing replacements. Be back in the potters community. Yes that's exciting.But the real biggie is to see my work outside the studio for the first time in months, not crammed together. Not covered in dust, not acting as a paperweight for random sketches.But here in its element on a clean cloth, dusted down and carefully places. It's when you really know pieces are working. It's good to remember there are so many other things that make a show besides the selling ( and let's face it buying!)So why am I sat doing this? I have a kiln to pack...#derbymuseum #ceramiccreatures #newwork #crows #folkart

While I have been working like crazy to get ready for this I've only just thought about telling anyone about it in an efficient manner.So here it is, the fabulous @toastedceramicfairI'm in really good company which for you translates as a lot to see and lots to buy. Added extras, as if you needed them - there's a tombola, gift bags for the first eager customers and its just in such lovely building.I promise to do better...#crowsofinstagram #corvids# derby #derbymuseums #ceramiccreatures
